I would hate to be the barrier of bad news. As much as I love Rihanna, this video lacked a cohesive story line. You’re walking around drinking coconut water and lying on the bead…what does that have to do with the song?

These artist have lost their ability to write, produce long lasting single(opinion based), and deliver a quality video.

The video was shown with the “ending” first, sort of like the Kill Bill movies…where Rihanna was enjoying her day and at night went to a club where she danced with a guy who took it way to far…so she went to get her gun and shot him

Great story but the film doesn’t live up to it. The editing, lighting and shots themselves, didn’t suffice. Not a bad video but could be much better.

Why is she riding her bike around and walking the city so long. The trauma, hurt, and rage she felt in the room and on the water should have been shown more as should the club and especially the rape and then the murder at the end.

After giving it a clear view, now I see the story line.
That was a risky move. Surprised BET allowed her to show the firearm on television.

I thought the storyline was pretty clear: Rihanna shoots her aggressor and it rewinds and tells why. It goes through the events that led up to the violence. She’s a young lady, living life, riding bikes, visiting the beach, and conversing with her fellow natives. She decides to go out that night and continue doing her without a care in the world. She’s half dressed being a tease, dancing and grinding over a young male. She thinks its innocent fun, but obviously he got the wrong message and refused to take no for an answer. She walks home by herself, He rapes her and she in turn kills him.

The video was very powerful. I’m a rape victim and I honestly always picture my aggressor at the end of a barrel of a pistol. I loved it. I’m a Rihanna fan and I love the fact that she can reinvent herself in her videos. Keep up the good work RiRi and I’m peeping the acting skills.

By the way, this video touched basis on something that happens every single day. Be careful ladies.

Rihanna was the lightest in the video, there are other light people in J.A even minus bleaching. The guys in Rihanna’s videos are light or brown but he is the black aggressor…. she caters to a a “pop” audience….

BTW, I wish a couple of rapist cops in my hometown would get what the dude in this video got.

^I’m not saying that Rihanna is hiddeous, there’s something really pretty about her. But the thruth is that this hairstyle (long straight hair) shows her “weakness”. In this video her forehead looks 3x bigger LOL

Even with Rihanna’s big forehead, she is still a beauty. I think when someone always make it a point to say someone is not all of that or ugly, that speaks to them having some insecurities or internal issues that won’t allow them to see anyone else getting any props or shine. Its a threat to their existence to see anyone shower another person with compliments. If you don’t agree when someone says she’s beautiful. Why do you feel the need to come out and talk about her forhead being big and her voice. What has that got to do with anything?
