Things ‘Keep Getting Better’ for Christina Aguilera. The 30-year-old, who has lent her vocals to Maroon 5’s ‘Moves Like Jagger’ has much to be pleased about this week. For the infectious whistle number has now topped the Billboard Hot 100 making it Maroon 5’s second Hot 100 number one. The victory now serves as Aggy’s fifth Hot 100 number one single. The last time Aggy scored a number one single was with ‘Lady Marmalade’ a decade ago and it was a collaborative effort with Lil’ Kim, Mya and P!nk.
Nice work! This generates more promise for a prosperous comeback after Aggy was hit hard with the commercial failure of ‘Bionic’. If she was smart enough, she’d use this to her advantage and request for her ‘Voice’ co-star Adam Levine to jump on her new album STAT! Christina plans to release the new album next year.
Lloyd‘s bitch Miguel spilled some deets on his sophomore album which I am totally looking forwards to. The project is tentatively due in March/April 2012, and it will be a fusion of “electronic hip-hop meets classic rock meets great songs”. He goes on to say the album will touch upon subjects which goes far and beyond the cliche of romance.
That’s cool, but I’m sorry. Everytime this man’s name props up, rather than get a warm fuzzy feeling inside because his music is so great, I can’t stop thinking about the audio where Lloyd was ready to cap his ass and he was almost on bended knee pleading for mercy. Seriously I hate a bitch negro but guess what, his new music will more than likely be hot and it would be as if the audio never existed.
Bruno Mars has filed a lawsuit against his music publisher Bug Music, Inc because they are being a pain in the butt and won’t release him from his contract. So here’s the story. Mars agrees to submit several songs to a certain deadline. He gets no response from the publisher, and assumes his contract is dunzo. Bug insist he is still under a contract which gives them 50% of the copyrights of any music he makes.
Such a hostage situation has prompted the smooth crooner to file documents today in L.A. County Superior Court where he hopes a judge will overrule the contract and declare it a non-entity. Must suck not be in full control of your own music. What’s worse, someone holding you to ransom over your own livelihood. I hope he works things out as I am definetely anticipating a new album from him. I’d hate for this to get in the way of a future release.

Usher shows just how much he is loving his job. The R&B crooner was spotted in Queens, New York yesterday on the set of Romeo Santos music video for the newcomer’s second single ‘Promise’. Ush appeared to be enjoying shooting a sex scene with a Latina seductress atop of a car bonnet.
Wouldn’t be a first, that’s for sure. The singer took time out from recording his own album in NYC to do the shoot. The Usher assisted ‘Promise’ is lifted from Santos’ upcoming debut album ‘Formula Volume 1′ which is scheduled to be released on November 8th.
Alicia Keys and her Lifetime Five partners Jennifer Aniston and Demi Moore look absolutely amazing on the October cover of ‘Glamour’ magazine. The trio have come together in their joint directorial effort for Lifetime Five. The Lifetime Five series shows a strong dedication to sharing the stories of breast cancer victims and how the disease affects women’s lives.
Meanwhile, Alicia who has been recording her new album, tells the publication about the positive aspect of raising her 10-month-old son Egypt: “He’s going to be a man in this world. It’s a beautiful blessing that I get to help raise a man. And I want to show him as much as possible”. Glamour’s October issue is available on newsstands nationwide from September 6th. Keyshia Cole is returning to her roots of “reality”, prior to the December release of her new album. “We’re in the studio now, working on a new album and doing [Family First] now too. I just kind of lay out all my emotions, then we start from there” she says, making note that she’s worked with big producers and establishing positivity in her new management – former Def Jam president and EVP of Warner Music Group Kevin Liles.
The 29-year-old’s new reality show ‘Family First’ will be a six part series, documenting the singer juggling her music career with motherhood and married life. We will also get to see Keyshia recording her fifth studio album and re-marrying basketball husband Daniel Gibson. The question is, will folk want to watch a reality show which has less/zero focus on Frankie and Neffe? You can’t lie and say her colourful family members did not provide the entertainment which resulted in ‘The Way It Is’ becoming a ratings success.
With ‘New Life’, comes a brand new release date. November 8th is when Monica releases her positive outlook on love, life and all things great. This will be preceded by promotional single ‘Anything (To Find You)’. An official first single is expected to see a release before the project hits stores this fall.
Monica is back with some real R&B music. She’s one of those artists who does not genre-hop for the sake of a pop hit. Some may sacrifice their musical integrity for relevance but Monica stays true to herself. I can’t wait for ‘New Life’ to drop in stores and I’ll be supporting the project whole heartedly.
The music video that was never meant to be has surfaced today in sneak peak form. Kim Kardashian‘s visual for benefit single ‘Turn It Up’ looked like it was scrapped from public view after it was heavily panned for ear bleeding vocals and mediocre dance beat (courtesy of The-Dream). Then it disappeared into oblivion without further mention. Up until now.
