Those who were loving Rich Harrison‘s new R&B girl group RichGirl will probably scorn at the news that they disbanded last year. I loved RichGirl. There is not one song of theirs that I didn’t like and talent-wise, I felt they could have been the closest thing to Destiny’s Child. Despite the band supporting Beyonce on her ‘I Am…’ tour in 2009, they never did get the momentum they deserved, so they split. Kristal Lyndriette Smith then decided to continue pursuing her dream of being in a girl group by joining the newly reformed Pussycat Dolls. This decision might be a downgrade especially if the group consists of a spotlight hogging lead singer and she finds herself and the other girls serving as back-up dancers. That was clearly the case with the original dolls. Plus, their founder Robin Antin is clearly trying to clone the former glory of her once popular girl group.
Other girls in the band include Lauren Bennett from the now defunct girl group Paradiso Girls and alleged Kobe Bryant mistress Vanessa Curry, a former Laker chick. I can’t really see this happening but will gladly eat my words if proven wrong. Photo source.
Rich Girl was awesome. “Shut Up Boy” and “Smile and Wave” were my favs! I wouldn’t compare then to DC tho. And this new PCD thing seems too similar to what’s going on with Sugababes… never ends well.

Hope Robin Antin will let all members sing. But I doubt it’s gonna have global success. Maybe in the US.

Apparently 4 girls will sing, 2 will dance (the Amber Rose look a like and Vannessa, the ones on the end).
And we know Lynndriette can BLOW and apparently so can the other black chick so hopefully plays her cards right and turns them into more of a Danity Kane group and not a slut fest…

There’s going to be 4 singers and 2 dancers. I knew Robin was lying when she said all of them where going to sing. I didn’t that when it came out her mouth.

They were HOT and they had potential, but the material and label weren’t strong enough to support them. But tbh, Richgirl was never anything that we haven’t seen before.
This new line up looks AMAZING and Taz is a flawless singer/performer, so I’m dying of anticipation for the new group!
