Michelle Williams has just delivered her first televised UK performance of her new single, ‘On The Run’, a collaboration with Electric Giant Beatz.

She conveyed her unhidden belting chops live on ‘OK! TV’ earlier today. I’ve never really liked Michelle’s vocals. When she started getting meatier parts in songs during her stint in Destiny’s Child, her voice grated and made me wish I didn’t have ears. But this performance shows she’s come hell of a long way. If I had one criticism, it would be that she needs to put in the extra work with her stage presence. And lastly, this post completes my Destiny’s Child hat trick today.

Blondes have more fun, and wig wearing Rihanna was certainly showing it on the set of her new music video for second single ‘You Da One’.

The colourful clip, which was shot in London today, is being directed by Rihanna’s right hand woman Melina. You can tell because vibrant colours are Melina’s signature. The visual is reportedly inspired by Stanley Kubrick’s 1971 film ‘A Clockwork Orange’. I just hope that wherever they got the idea from for the video, they recieved the rightful permission from the originator this time.

The biggest talk surrounding this week’s lackluster first week sales is centred around Rihanna, but let’s not act like Mary J. Blige did not underperform just as badly.

In fact, Blige did worse and she’s an R&B veteran. Mary’s first week album sales for ‘My Life II: The Journey Continues’ stands at 165k securing a #5 debut on this week’s Billboard Hot 200 Albums Chart. This is possibly the first album of Blige’s career not to surpass the 200k mark and possibly the worst selling album of her career. First week sales for her debut album ‘What’s the 411′ remain undisclosed so we can’t say for sure, but if we exclude her debut or assume it sold 200k, this would be Mary’s worst selling album to date! Hopefully, she can turn things around with the right selection of singles.

Plus, it wouldn’t be a first for a legendary artist to suffer a major slump in sales (see Janet, Mariah and Whitney). Check out her flawless performance of her new single ‘Mr. Wrong’ on The View yesterday morning, after the jump.

Watch: Monica chats with ‘Wendy Williams’…

If anyone knows how to keep it real classy with the Queen of ghetto, then look no further than R&B sensation Monica.

The singer visited The Wendy Williams Show this morning, and some of the subjects brought to fruition included those pesky pregnancy rumours, her forthcoming new album ‘New Life’, the enjoyment of wedded bliss and so much more. For the record, she denies being pregnant, which would be more difficult when promoting a new album in the coming months. Regardless of having no bun in the oven, she tells the one-time radio jock: “I would love to be and we practice regularly!” See what else the very articulate Monica had to say after the jump.

Beyonce‘s latest music video for ‘Dance for You’ was so hot, many males could have fried an egg on their foreheads by the time they were done watching it…

That would apply to *some* females too! The latest visual is lifted from the singer’s ‘Live at Roseland – Elements of 4’ video anthology DVD which dropped in stores yesterday (did you buy your copy?). Check out a behind the scenes look at how the steamy film noir was created after the jump. Oh baby!

R&B crooner Mario is preparing a new mixtape titled ‘Truth Be Told’. He’s been documenting the recording process in a Vlog which goes under the working title ‘Mario Mondays’.

Adele‘s ‘Rolling In the Deep’, one of the year’s biggest hits, sees Mario delivering a unique twist to the track and altering the original arrangement. More interestingly, this particular song has to be the most covered song from a large spectrum of artists in months past and serving as a staple for such artist to prove their vocal abilities. See what Mario did with it below, and look out for his forthcoming studio album ‘Restoration’ this coming February.

Jennifer Lopez prepares greatest hits album…

I hear Jennifer Lopez has tapped popular producers The Dream and Tricky Stewart for her forthcoming greatest hits cd.

Lopez may not be selling as well as she did before reaching the industry age bias of 40, but no one can deny she’s had some hot hit records under her belt. The upcoming compilation will feature large smash singles in the vein of ‘I’m Real’, ‘Jenny From the Block’, ‘If You Had My Love’, and more and is tentatively scheduled for a 2012 release. Would you support it?

Beyonce, who released her ‘Live at Roseland – Elements of 4’ video anthology DVD yesterday, was snapped through New York City on the same day.

The pregnant songstress said in September that she was six months pregnant. As of tomorrow, we’re now in December. If she’s ready to pop within a month, you sure as hell wouldn’t guess it would you? It just seems like her belly hasn’t grown much since those beach pics. You’ve got to admit, this bump-gate situation has been a hilarious ride! How many Grammy nominations do you think she’ll pick up tonight?

Kelly Rowland‘s new album ‘Here I Am’ is placed outside the UK’s top 50 in this week’s midweeks chart.

What exactly does that translate to in NUMBERS? A measly 3,000? Rowland is finding out in the same way as Nicole Scherzinger and Jennifer Lopez that judging on a high profile talent show does not mean it will generate hype and beanstalk album sales. People must want to anticipate you and her confrontational attitude on screen, as well as her reported feud with co-judge Tulisa Contostavlos may not have sat well with viewers. Or it could be that the project itself just wasn’t that great to begin with.

While we await for blue-eyed soulman Robin Thicke to release his fifth studio album ‘Love After War’ on December 6th, you can now check out lengthy 1:30 snippets of each song from the project. I think a lot of babies will be made from this album. This project sounds like a real fertiliser! Get into the preview below!
