Kelis has been M.I.A this year and with super dancentric album ‘Flesh Tone’ tanking horribly and sinking further without trace, she’s had time to reflect and brainstorm where she wants to go for the next album. The eclectic diva reveals to AllSaints Basement Sessions that she’ll be (independently) dropping her new album in the first quarter of the new year.
Not much is said about producers and the overall direction but in my opinion, she needs to go back to releasing kick-ass tunes like ‘Milkshake’ and ‘Bossy’. Kelis is also featured in Hunger magazine’s latest issue in new shots by Rankin, which you can check out below.

Fleshtones is a fierce album, so under rated! IMO she was neva given a chance or taken seriously in the dance direction! I agree tho for the next album back to killer r&b beats, trick me is one of my all time faves it ruins me! Hopefully she’ll start gettin the recognition she deserves and bringin those numba 1s back to the yard!
I agree with @Jtizzle her Flesh Tones album was great, I didn’t want to give it a chance at first but honestly I think it was one of the hottest albums of 2010. I loved trick me too one of my fave cuts on her Tasty Album, but I would personally love another Flesh Tones
@JTIZZLE
@Zo
Agrees
flesh tones trumped all these other top forty dance cuts by leaps and bounds. it was ahead of it’s time. maybe it along with the new album will be appreciated in 2012.
Fleshtone’s a hot album, Toya!!! I still jam to Acapella and 21st Century today
@Everyone ^^
Anything Queen Kelis does is amazing from her debut R&B music with The Neptunes, to her Bossy days, to her dance days
Also, @Toya
Kelis had been making dance tunes even before this album, like Richard X “Finest Dreams, which slayed on UK & US R&B charts in 2003
