Beyoncé’s album ‘4’ reaches 1 million sales (in the States)…

It took half a year to get there but she eventually did it! Beyonce‘s latest album ’4′ has officially gone platinum in the States after selling 1,036,793 copies. The project, which is said to be her most expressive as far as substance goes, has drawn mixed reaction from fans and critics alike.

This is good, considering that she never had to resort to ridiculous slash prices, and promo was not as in your face like previous eras. Without doubt, ’4′ is the best selling R&B album of the year!

no slashes, no hit single, no trendy dance pop tracks, a 3 and a half week prior leak and she STILL debutted at number 1 with over 300K and went platinum in 6 months which ill admit in todays musical climate (check the trash on the billboard top 20) I doubted it but of course only bey! #whorunthismotha

Oh, PLEASE. This album actually had more promotion than any of her albums, IMO. Now, I will say it was cut short due to her pregnancy, but she was everywhere during the first few months of her release. However, anyone going platinum in today’s climate is great.

HUNTY please go look back .. even with how strong it was for bday with sasha fierce that bitch was everywhere for a straight year and a half and only slowed down to go on a world tour ..The promotion for this album doesn’t even rank on how hard she went with her previous albums .. But obv as u said correctly it was because of her pregnancy but that’s when most ppl would fade away but she’s continued to sell

@yeaisaidit awwww look at the pressed rhi stan LOL srry hun that platinum plaque is US alone and we all know how rihanna sells (or doesn’t sell LOL) in the US .. But talk that flop was just certified gold tho!! (Off of shipments not sales tho #oops) I could compare beys past albums to rihannas but let’s not embarrass u ill keep it current and cute haha and @susan yessss she’s on track to break the record of having the most consecutive number one albums wooo!!!

I agree wit u.If what she had with this album wasn’t massive promotion,then I don’t know what it was;oprah,AI,glastonbury etc and the biggest anticipation counted too.
But even platinum is good these days congrats to her

@yeaisaidit stop being so pressed!!! this is about ablum sales not about how much a tour grossed! But if you wanna be all technical go look at Beyonce tours and see how much they grossed, Go look at Madonna and others! 90 million is great for rhi but other artist can push or sell tickets like that as well I wish everyone would stop and just accept the fact that one artist can do what another one can’t!

AND FYI this goes for Beyonce as well and I’m a fan of BOTH!

@yeaisaidit HAHA cuz beyonce has NEVER had a world tour so ur making a point .. #oops she’s had 3 haaha on man the navy is a hot mess .. rihanna first album from 7 years ago is still only at 1 MILLION COPIES WW (yes u read that correctly) and two other ones that completey flopped ..this is the first time beyonce has “flopped” in 16 years and still came out of a flop era with a number one platinum album and the navy really have the nerve ..
