It’s always nice to see new photos of a radiant Mariah Carey recording her new album in the studio. It means new music from MC is on its way! As confirmed months ago, Mimi has once again partnered with longterm collaborator and producer Jermaine Dupri, and they were putting further touches to the project last night. This could be good, or it could be… stale.

Many would know JD as the one responsible for her phenomenal comeback seven years ago with her smash single ‘We Belong Together’. Unfortunately, he’s recycled that beast ever since. Hopefully, they bring something new to the table, although I would not mind if they give us specks of what was served up on that classic ‘Daydream’ album way back when. And in even more exciting news, the singer is set to headline the 11th Annual Mawazine Festival in Morocco on May 26th. Event organizers confirm that she will be performing new songs from the upcoming project. So, it seems Mimi is targeting early summer to launch her musical comeback. Exciting! MC was recently honoured at the 2012 ‘BET Honors’ ceremony, and you can check out a preview of the singer’s emotional stage appearance below, as well as another studio shot.
