Mya‘s new album ‘K.I.S.S. (Keep It Sexy and Simple)’ is set to be released worldwide on Valentine’s Day (February 14th). As a result, the singer has just released ‘Mess Up My Hair’ as a new single, which you can now download on iTunes or Amazon.
‘Hair’ is definetely one of the stronger tracks on ‘K.I.S.S.’ The song itself knocks quite hard and has a Rihanna-esque ‘What’s My Name?’ sort of vibe, or at least it adopts those similar drums. As much as I think the song knocks, I wished she had the right people and funds for this to get the proper promotional campaign that it’s deserving of. It is such a waste! Oh, and that’s um, interesting artwork for a single cover. Mya’s certainly got back!

I was gonna comment on why she still tries but this is a jam. WERK
Btw, why did she couldn’t she maintain her success?
Not everyone is lucky enough to blow up. Too bad. She had some some hot tunes too.
Do you have a recommended playlist?
Not right now. My ipod is full of like ancient songs. And I mean REALLY ancient.
Weak. Flop… Go and join Nicole Scherzinger, Cassie and Ciara in the land of NOBODY CARES. STOP tryin to make Mya happen Toya, She AINT gonna happen.
@Toya K.I.S.S. is a very strong album. After the first 4 huge songs on the trackslist, there’s “Problem + Solution” and the nice RnB “Love Me Some You”
I’m glad this gets the single treatment, it’s definitely one of the strongest songs.
Not bad. It’s a lot better than those other singles she released from the K.I.S.S. album
@Me you must care about all of those women if you are the only one bringing it up. FYI don’t include Ciara in that pile.
Some of you fools can hate but Mya is making things happen, while the Ciaras and Nicoles waste industry money which they have to pay back eventually Mya has taken the best route at present, she is making money as K.I.S.S was at no.2 best selling contemporary RnB and no.4 best selling RnB/Soul on Amazon which means she is seeing good returns and it debuted at no.11 on Itunes and let’s not forget it was already no.1 in Japan on pre-orders alone and the mere fact that its being released WW speaks for itself PLUS Mya is able to provide music to her fans on a more current basis without the major label red tape I COMMEND MYA she is a true business woman and she’s putting the money she made from her craft back into her craft.
I still pop it to “Earthquake” every night. smh, the whole album and Mya deserve so much more.
She do very well without promo. ALL singles released in Japan have ever peaked no.1 on Japan iTunes R&B Chart. Japanese still buy her album. The U.S. version has ever peaked no.1 Best selling RnB on Amazon.
Well isn’t this just an awful week for R&B. Ya’ll should check out my page and tell me if you like my playlist
