Chris Brown is officially the black, male Britney Spears. The reformed singer stepped up his promotional campaign for his upcoming fifth studio album, ‘Fortune’, taking to the stage to perform the LP’s lead single ‘Turn Up the Music’. This was followed by previous hit single ‘Beautiful People’. As expected, Breezy lipsynced the hell out of his performance and appeared to have drawn inspiration from 1980s arcade game ‘Q-Bert’.
His dancers were dressed as neon flying squirrels, darting up and down some flashing rubix cubes here and there. The performance was your standard, typical, run of the mill performance from Breezy. It was very predictable, and lots of moves were rehashed. It all ended brilliantly for him as he won his first Grammy Award (as I correctly predicted)! His latest project ‘F.A.M.E.’ picked up a Grammy for ‘Best R&B Album’. Although there were real R&B albums that were more deserving I was still happy for him. Being able to perform at the Grammy Awards (on the same night as Rihanna at that) and actually WINNING a Grammy marks a massive breakthrough in his career.
He shouldnt have won but if he didnt win he woulda Bitched so…the performance was okay.
OMG…I was thinking the same thing about him being a male Britney Spears. The difference is Brit actually as more songs I like. I do like that Beautiful People song, but the rest is trash. Also, I find it funny people claim Usher is no longer R&B, but have no issues with him doing only wannabe “DJ’s Got Us Falling In Love”. Usher still gives up “There Goes My Baby” and his dance tracks are actually good.
Awful. Who lips at the Grammys? And then they have the nerve to award his flop NON PLATINUM album. Pathetic. Do not invite him back next year. He needs to retire as a vocalist and become a background dancer. Woman beater.
Leave that boy alone. Usher has a great catalogue and even britney. Hopefully chris stops releasing that hardcore r&b rap crap….SERIOUSLY THAT’S WHY HIS ALBUM WENT GOLD SMH but unlike britney the boy can sing whether he dosent sing live or not

I agree that the performance was stadard. But He CLEARLY really sang the 1st song. I wanted CHris Brown to win only because he never won a grammy. But the ONLY PERSON OTHER THAN HIM THAT REALLY DESERVED IT WAS FRANK OCEAN

“Turn Up the Music” was actually sung live…he didn’t start lip syncing until “Beautiful People”…I wasn’t impressed by his performance to be honest…his BET, VMA, and AMA performances were better
For all you dumb motherfuc*ers Chris sang Turn Up The Music Live and his other song he lipsynced. He just like Rihanna started out singing live then the backtrack took over. Now you ask WHO lipsync at the Grammys? I seen Rihanna as well as Chris LIPSYNCING at the GRAMMYS. So If you want to talk shit about lipsyncing talk about both Chris & Rihanna. I was really ashamed that he won the grammy, I felt it was disrepectful towards REAL singers like Ledisi and Kelly Price (who released the best R&B albums of 2011 IMO). I don’t even consider Chris Brown an R&B artist anymore.
Regarding the performance, I’m always looking forward to his routines (don’t care much about the “vocals”) but like ABC said his Bet, VMA’s, etc.. were 1000 times better…after 1 minute I got bored of his repetitive dancing in this ocassion!

How many CD’s did R Kelly sell? $600.00 & Ledisi who knows, Shame you stated Kelly Price who the hell knew she had a CD out. Is it because her numbers were low. Now CB to date sold $880.000 plus CD’s. Tell me did you even buy the F.A.M.E. CD. Check out Ledisi & Kelly Price numbers and tell me if they should have gotten a Grammy.
