Ashanti‘s appearance on Good Morning America earlier today was only suppose to be in support of her latest new single ‘The Woman You Love’. But with the weekend passing of Whitney Houston, she decided to make last minute arrangements to her set, just so that she could tribute the tragic legend.
The former princess of Murder Inc did a commendable (partially pitchy) job of ‘I Have Nothing’ . To put it simply, Ashanti’s voice really isn’t tailor made to sing classic Whitney ballads.
When you compare her rendition to technically trained vocalists, it comes across as okay-ish which would probably serve worthy enough to win $50 at a karaoke contest and not much else. The ‘Woman’ performance was cute though and oozed lots of confidence.
You can click here to watch an LQ video of her ‘Woman’ performance. A HQ version will be posted once available.
