Over the weekend, Kelis came out of hiding to perform at Rain nightclub in Las Vegas. She blasted out her previous international hit single ‘Milkshake’, as well as the David Guetta-produced ‘Acapella’ from her lastest album ‘Flesh Tone’ (released in 2010).

The crowd was amped but moreso, that was likely to do with the music than the overall performance. Although not much can be expected from club performances, she did pretty well methinks.

‘Milkshake’ recieved an intro remix of Madonna’s 80s hit ‘Holiday’ before transitioning to its original hard-hitting Neptunes production. Upon seeing that, I really miss the old Kelis and her old sound. The dance and house direction was cool. I won’t lie. She did it really well. But I miss the edge and grit of her old records. Recently, Kelis said she’ll be (independently) dropping a new album this year. I’ll keep everyone posted once more details are made available.
