Take a listen to Rita Ora‘s official new UK single ‘R.I.P’. The Tinie Tempah-assisted cut, was written by Young Money superstar Drake and co-produced by Stargate and Chase & Status.
The Roc Nation newcomer debuted the track earlier this morning on Twin B’s 1Xtra show. The Nneka-sampling ‘R.I.P’ has a gritty swag to it, thanks to its dubstep overtones, menacing strings, fuzzy synths, and punchy bass. Rita makes light of giving all of herself to the one she’s in pursuit of, and claiming not to be the girl she use to be.
It’s definitely a UK hit from what I can tell. After topping the British chart with current single ‘Hot Right Now’, Rita’s second assault on the UK music scene will commence once again when she releases ‘R.I.P’ on May 6th.
The 21-year-old will support the song by touring with her ‘Hot Right Now’ collaborator DJ Fresh on his UK tour this summer. She will perform ‘R.I.P’ live, as well as her new US single ‘Party & Bullsh*t’ which she premiered recently. You can catch her live on the following dates:
7th May – Leeds University Stylus
9th May – Oxford Academy
10th May – Bournemouth Old Fire Station
11th May – Birmingham Academy
12th May – Liverpool Academy
14th May – London Koko
16th May – Cambridge Junction
19th May – Glasgow Arches
A future top 5!
