Former Destiny’s Child member, LaTavia Roberson did a lengthy interview with Kempire Radio recently.

Her stint involved the clearing up of rumours surrounding her alcohol abuse and THAT Destiny’s Child controversy 13 years ago. If you were hoping for Latavia to drag Beyonce and Mathew‘s name through the mud, you will find this interview a tad bit disappointing. To save you the hassle, I’ll give you some pointers (not highlights because there was none).

1. Tav still has love for Beyonce and Kelly
Tav was hurt about how she was unfairly kicked out of Destiny’s Child all those years ago. But insists “there’s not a bitter bone in my body”. She assists that claim with having ownership of all of Kelly and Beyonce’s solo albums, as well as her public confrontations with anyone who will spit negative things about the Queen. Since the ugly break-up, she’s spoken to Beyonce (as well as Kelly), and they embraced. Tav congratulated Beyonce to her face on all of her major accomplishments. Although they have not spoken to each other in several years, Tav still considers her a friend. She is pleased Beyonce is happily married and blessed with her baby girl. So, that’s that cleared up. Tav has no hate for Beyonce, and there is no jealousy.

2. Tav speaks more about her unfair Destiny’s Child dismissal, but refuses to criticise Matthew Knowles
The problem was strictly management for Tav and LeToya, and NOT with Beyonce. She had just turned 18 and noticed things about the situation that didnt seem right. They were suppose to have a crisis meeting, but before that meeting could ever take place, they were watching the ‘Say My Name’ video (as well as their replacements) at the same time as the rest of us. Her one regret was not speaking to Beyonce and Kelly about the situation, but they felt they had to take more drastic measures to achieve a bigger result. She puts real emphasis on not wanting Matthew to be fired. The group had individual contracts, one of them being their own personal management contract. They wanted their OWN additional management. If they had that meeting, this is what would have been said. Tav says she is not surprised that Beyonce and Mathew’s professional relationship (as her manager) came to an end over missing finances. To clarify, she was ASKED if she was surprised and she simply replied “no”.

3. Tav is writing an autobiography but it won’t trash Beyonce & Mathew
She reveals she is writing a memoir about her life and what we can expect next for her career. She’s not trying to rush it because she’s looking for the right publishing house. It will detail “the good, the bad and the ugly” and despite it being a tell-all, it won’t bash Mathew and Beyonce. The book will shed light on her alcohol abuse (which she has now overcome). “I need people to understand why I’ve been gone for so long” she says, as well as why she could not bring herself to work. Now she says she’s currently in a wonderful place in her life, and she knows who she is through Christ.

That’s really IT. No real juice. Nothing was said that we hadn’t heard of before, as LeToya gave a very identical account a while back. The only thing exclusive were her feelings and her future career plans (book, movies, reality shows, fragrance, laundry line, possible return to music, etc). I personally think she left it waaaay too late to write a tell-all. No one is interested about the break-up any more, so I can’t see massive reader consumption for it. People would find more interest in reading a whole book from Beyonce about her parenting skills. I know that’s harsh but I’m just telling it like it is.
