Jordin Sparks sings her heart out while tributing her late idol Whitney Houston with the diva’s pop classic ‘I Wanna Dance With Somebody’!

Jordin took to the stage at Childhelp’s ‘Capitol CAREaoke 2012′ event this week (April 18th). She performed in front of politicians, media, sports personalities and business leaders, to raise money for victims of child abuse and neglect. The event took place at the Ronald Reagan International Trade Center in Washington, D.C. The former American Idol champ, co-starred with Whitney in the upcoming film ‘Sparkle’ shortly before her tragic passing on February 11th, 2012.

Juding by the footage below, Jordin did Ms Whitney proud! Plus, it was nice to see her putting her little groove to the performance. I’m totally loving this new confident Jordin! But what the hell is happening with her new album?

Remember when she went all Beyonce on us with that last single ‘I Am Woman’? Then she disappeared. Never to be heard of again. Last I heard she was trying to get Timbaland on board. That was all the way in 2010 and so much has changed since then.

I truly hope we get some new music soon because the longer she stays away, the harder it will be.
