Rihanna and her mentor Jay-Z are set to headline the 2012 Olympic Games, one month a head of the actual event!

According to Business Week:

The pair will star in the BBC Radio 1 Hackney Weekend 2012 (June 23-24) a month before the Games, said organizers of the Olympics cultural festival, releasing the program at a news conference today. Comedians Stephen Fry and Tim Minchin will be among other entertainers cropping up in venues across Britain.

“There will be absolutely something for everyone: from Beethoven to Jay-Z, from Shakespeare to Mike Leigh,” Culture Secretary Jeremy Hunt said at the news conference in the Tower of London.

It seems Jay-Z is very much STILL invested in Rihanna’s career as they are doing this gig together. Perhaps this will deaden rumours that he plans to turn his back on her for his other Roc Nation darling Rita Ora. Why can’t there be room for both? Nothing wrong with a little bit of healthy competition. It just makes the game more interesting.
