Watch: Christina Aguilera belts out ‘The Prayer’ on ‘The Voice’…

Christina Aguilera pairs herself up with her protege Chris Mann to cover Celine Dion and Andrea Bocelli‘s ‘The Prayer’ on ‘The Voice’ last night. How did it go?

Aside from the slight oversinging and unnecessary vocal runs, this was a very good performance. Chris Mann and Christina really compliment each other on the track. It’s pointless to compare their effort to the original because most covers don’t ever touch the original anyway. I felt they did the track a whole lot of justice (of course the studio version highlighted their outstanding qualities to great effect).

I didn’t hear any over singing, I think you’re just mistaking actual vocal ability with that. Hearing her sing Italian is amazing and to think she was sick as fuck during the live performance.

Ugh I love it it was amazing, no wonder Celine Dion herself stans for Christina.

I said *slight* over singing, not that she went overboard with it (she could have used a softer vocal in several parts imo). For the most part, I said she did a great job. I didn’t criticise the performance.

Christina sounded amazing even being under the weather. I love how Christina made it her own, but also kept it very much the same as the original. Christina has her own style of singing and that’s how she feels a song. I know Celine Dion was beyond pleased with Christina’s rendition. Celine has always expressed her love for Christina’s voice.

02:44-02:48 shows she has control over her voice and it’s beautiful when she uses it. This was a perfect example of why Xtina is considered a great vocalists, her tone and range is amazing.

I don’t know about over singing…didn’t hear any. I thought this was beautiful. It was so good I may actually buy it. Oh and it reminds me that Xtina needs to stop fighting with Adam and make another Stripped lol
