Ashanti’s ‘Braveheart’ album now billed for August, prepares second single…

As expected, online retailers have pushed back the release date for Ashanti‘s ‘Braveheart’ album from June 19th to August 28th, 2012.

Although Ashanti has never announced an actual release date, Amazon always gets them from somewhere (the record label in most cases). A pushback was clearly on the cards ever since lead single ‘The Woman You Love’ failed to make an impact on the chart. Nelly Furtado was also due to release her new album ‘The Spirit Indestructible’ on June 19th putting her in direct competition with Justin Bieber‘s ‘Believe’. With lead single ‘Big Hoops’ not being the hit that it should be, she has wisely pushed back the project to September 11th.

Ashanti is now preparing to put out a second single (rumoured to drop next month) before the release of ‘Braveheart’. Last week, she revealed: “I got the mix emailed to me about one of the records that I’m going to be releasing very soon so I’m really excited about that”.

It’s about time she got the memo and moved on to the next!

The industry is rigged. I know for a fact that Ashanti’s current single is a way bigger hit than the Billboard charts and other music charts want to lead you to believe. The music industry is getting vicious, evil and now quite deceptive.

This album/era reminds me of basic instinct. No support and lack marketing and failed singles. In this case if I was Ashanti, she should release this album as a mixtape to generate enough buzz so she can signed to a leading label and then release a studio album next year.. She needs an actual label to support this project if she wants this album to make it on any chart.

This album will flop because she picks shitty singles, has no promo, and is sort of boring these days. She used to be cool, but her music blows now. On her last Cd, she should have make So over you a single and she would be in a different spot right now, but she picks stupid ballads. She has monica syndrome.
