Things are not looking good for Alexandra Burke right now. Two of Britain’s biggest radio stations (Capital & Radio 1) have showed lack of interest in supporting her new single ‘Let It Go’. So far, it has sold a lackluster 7,000 copies placing it at a very disappointing #23 in the UK midweeks. According to her brother David Burke, Alexandra was not given the opportunity to perform on big platforms such as The Voice and Britain’s Got Talent, simply because they didn’t want her. Ouch!
Simon Cowell is well known for giving many of his X Factor acts top billing on all of his flagship shows but it seems he has cut off all of his support for Alex (given that she fought hard to give herself some distance from his Syco label). So as it goes, she is no longer Simon’s priority and he does not care because she is no longer beneficial to him anymore. That really is a cut-throat businessman but business is simply that – business. I’m sure it’s nothing personal. If ‘Let It Go’ fails to debut in the top 20 this coming Sunday, what does this mean for her new album ‘Heartbreak On Hold’ which drops in less than a week?
