Current X Factor winners Little Mix have confirmed that their new single ‘Wings’ will premiere next week on radio 1. Speaking in a message on their official Soundcloud page, Jesy Nelson revealed: “The first radio play is on Monday guys!”. That very Monday is next week on July 2nd, following their first live performance at T4 on the Beach this Sunday. So, we will hear the live version on Sunday, and the studio version on Monday. ‘Wings’ will also be released to iTunes on August 22nd, and the physical release will drop the following day. The girls confirm that their debut album will be released at the end of the year, describing it as “old school pop and R&B with some modern beats”.

Little Mix achieved X Factor history when they became the first ever group to win the show last year. But winning a show does not guarantee a successful career as many winners have discovered, and still are discovering. Of course it would be nice for them if they could become the female One Direction (they were created the exact same way so why not?), but they’d need the appeal, charm, and engaging music to make an impact. Can they do it? Only time will tell.
