Check out the official artwork for Ashanti‘s Meek Mill and French Montana-assisted, Irv Gotti-produced new single ‘No One Greater’. The quirky snap was shot by celebrity photographer Robert Ector, and shows it could very well be the follow-up to her poorly recieved lead single, ‘The Woman You Love’, featuring Busta Rhymes. The track is lifted from Ashanti’s ‘Braveheart’ album which was pushed back until the beginning of 2013. ‘No One Greater’ is reminiscent of the old Ashanti, with it’s street vibe and dusky R&B production. It actually sounds like it was lifted from the ‘Only U’ template, but not as hot. Click here if you missed it.
Still, the beat is solid. The chorus is so-so. And Ashanti’s subject matter is derivative as ever. Heartbreak in paradise, the boyfriend “did me wrong” and I can go on. It’s time to find a new topic to sing about already. Sad to say it but her and Keyshia Cole are so cliched. Pst!
