Wynter Gordon showcases a relatively raw vocal performance while covering Natalie Imbruglia’s classic 90′s hit ‘Torn’. Wynter’s presentation was done for Billboard magazine’s ‘Candid Covers’ session, which also saw her perform ‘Kids’ from her new EP ‘Doleo’. An exclusive Q&A was also distributed.
The 26-year-old says she chose to perform 97′s ‘Torn’ because at that time she was preparing for graduation and moving on to junior high. I was in high school myself and thinking about my options for college the following year. Come to think of it, ’97 was a very good year for music. Aaliyah‘s ‘One In A Million’ and Mariah Carey‘s ‘Butterfly’ albums were released and I played those like the world was about to end.
