Last month, Nelly Furtado debuted a new song entitled ‘Parking Lot’ at The Sayers Club in Hollywood. With the song surfacing in its full studio form, it appears Interscope are targeting the track as the third single from her new album ‘The Spirit Indestructible’, which gets released on September 18th. Will the Darkchild-produced ‘Parking Lot’ prove three times the charm?

‘Parking Lot’ is pretty hot and this version is quite the contrast from the live version. The live version had more of a rock edge to it, but this is more pop and very catchy with some playful lyrics. There has to be some sort of voodoo on Darkchild tracks though because no matter how infectious his beats are, all of his songs stay flopping. I know he was not the only producer to have worked on this project, so why doesn’t Nelly give the other producers some shine as well? Other than the prosperity that Darkchild may very well have been contracted to have all of his songs released, it’s about high time Nelly thought up a new strategy.
