Trey Songz promo has been in full swing today, thanks to his new album ‘Chapter V’ dropping in Stateside stores this morning.

One of his promo stops included ‘The Breakfast Club’, where he was asked about some comments Ne-Yo made on the same show recently. Those comments consisted of Ne-Yo criticising Trey for the emotional disconnect in his music. While Trey did not hide his disdain at Ne-Yo’s remarks, he expressed not wanting to spend too much energy on “beefs” but paying more focus on talent.

Many R&B and Hip Hop artists have jumped on the dance-pop bandwagon, and Trey says he is staying in his R&B lane. But during an interview at Hot 97 this morning, Trey refused to address the Ne-Yo situation altogether, while striving to promote his album. Promotion continued when he appeared on ‘The Today Show’ to perform the album’s lead single ‘Heart Attack’. Today’s events have lead to Ne-Yo issuing a public apology on twitter.
