Trey Songz scores his first ever #1 album on the Billboard 200 with ‘Chapter V’. The project sold little over 135k copies. A respectable feat for the 27-year-old, although its predecessor, ‘Passion, Pain & Pleasure’ sold much more with 240k copies in its first week. In fact, this is the first time an album of Trey’s has not increased from the one before.

‘I Gotta Make It’, released in 2005, peaked at #20, followed by 2007′s ‘Trey Day’, which peaked at #11. ‘Ready’ peaked at #3 in 2009, and ‘Passion, Pleasure, & Pain’ peaked at #2 spot in 2010. Sales for R&B singers has been down this year so this would serve as a sign of the times but at least Trey can now say he has a #1 album under his belt having come close a few times before. Congrats.
