With the nature of the photoshoots she’s been doing…i was expecting a fresh new sound especially given the producers i’ve heard about but this sounds like a typical alicia song…i still like it tho…but slighty disappointed

I’m pretty sure the only album where the Alicia sang the majority of her songs in a comfortable range was her last disc, The Element Of Freedom. That album was done in the lowest keys she’d ever recorded. It’s not my favourite of her records but it fit her range best. To be fair I wouldn’t say she’s been singing way outside of her range because she does hit the notes with some strength, they just aren’t as crisp as they could be.

^ If it was any era it was the As I Am era everyone noted her over singing on no one. The diary era was very much in her range.

I actually think she can sing, the ONE performance I thought too much was done was at Whitney’s funeral but I credit that to emotions not over singing for over signings sake.

And Toya I usually don’t come for you but you need to be worried about your girls vocals at the VMAs not Alicia out of the two who REALLY gets flack for vocals…

I’ve never heard her criticised for sounding like a strained cat.
The song sounds hot!
