Solange Knowles, stepped into the mother land of South Africa this week, not just to shoot a glossy magazine cover shoot for Elle, but to film her new music video for upcoming new single ‘Losing You’. The news was confirmed today by Times Live, who also report that the video will be shot “documentary style” in and around Cape Town and slated to premiere next month (October). Solange describes her upcoming single as “eclectic with ’80s references and African percussion influences”. Make-up artist Jade Leggat also tweeted about the video shoot for ‘Losing You’ earlier today, which was shot at the Mickalene Thomas’ Brooklyn Art Studio. It feels like Solange has been recording her new album forever but at least her musical comeback is much more official now. I’ve posted some photos from the video shoot below.
