Prioritising, is always a good thing! Usher and Shakira have been tapped to temporarily replace Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green on NBC’s ‘The Voice’ when it relaunches next Spring. The pair are taking a break from their coaching roles so that they can focus on their upcoming projects. Aguilera claims that season four would not leave her any room to promote her new album ‘Lotus’. More deets below.

“Since NBC and ‘The Voice’ have decided to tape back-to-back seasons, requiring a full-year commitment, it is important for me to take season four off, allowing me to support my music that my fans have been waiting for with the release of my new album ‘Lotus’ on November 13th,” she said in a statement.

Green, who is also returning for season five, wants to focus on releasing his holiday album, ‘Cee Lo’s Magic Moment’, which drops on October 30th. He will also be developing a scripted comedy series for NBC based on his life, and working on a new Goodie Mob album, as well as his Las Vegas residency ‘Loberace’, and a memoir being written by David Wild. With so much going on, time-out from the show was definitely called for.
