On October 11th, Usher performed ‘I Believe in You & Me’ at a taping for ‘We Will Always Love You: A Grammy Salute To Whitney Houston’. The performance took place at the Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE in Los Angeles, California. Whitney popularised the classic in 1996 for ‘The Preacher’s Wife’ soundtrack, which she also co-starred in.

Usher, who turned 34 yesterday, is undoubtedly one of the best male vocalists of his generation but if I’m going to be totally honest I don’t think he nailed it. Although he had some decent moments, he played it safe by not pushing himself vocally. If you’re going to sing a Whitney ballad, you have to put all your strength and power into it, full stop. The show will air on November 16th at 10pm ET via CBS.
