Rihanna’s ‘Diamonds’ cracks top 10 on Billboard Hot 100…

Shining brightly as ever, Rihanna scores her 23rd Billboard Hot 100 top 10, with new single ‘Diamonds’. The track jumps three places from #11 to #8, entering its fourth week with top Airplay and Streaming Gainer honors. The track’s soaring success does not stop there either.

The song also climbs from #15 to #10 on Hot 100 Airplay (66 million, up 18%) to become Rihanna’s 19th top 10 on the survey. It concurrently climbs from #9 to #7 on Hot Digital Songs (118,000, up 10%) and #35 to #19 on On-Demand Songs (516,000, up 39%).

Amazing stats. Can you imagine how much better the song would have done if it was aided by promotion and a music video? I hope that at some point she is announced as a performer at the American Music Awards. Rihanna only just started shooting the music video for ‘Diamonds’ this week prior to the song being released weeks ago and she is STILL recording the album despite it dropping in stores in just three weeks. A sloppy era if ever I’ve seen one.

This was definitely RUSHED and it does come off sloppy.

There’s no way in hell they’re pushing this album back. Talk that talk was thrown together and rushed out the same way. They want to capitilize off of her momentum and those black friday sales in america. I’m not surprised by any of the messiness. I just hope she has that normal 1 to 2 good song ratio on this album that she normally has on all her other ones mixed in with the 90% garbage ..

Sloppy era is right! A pushback would be smart but I don’t think it will happen. Congrats are in order for the person who penned the song.

So many haters – let’s be real here! She has done no promotion and it has entered the top 10, no video, no live performances and everyone is still trying to find something else to hate on! Oh her album is gonna flop, oh she rushed her album.
She’s not sweating chart success and it’s the 1st time I’m not bothered about a US #1 album. I think TTT showed that she can sell an album doing barely nothing at all and Diamonds prove the same thing. This chick could just release singles this whole era without videos and still slay.
She has reached a level alot of artists wish they could be on, which is to have a have hit record doing the bare minimum. As someone pointed out when this video drops it will go number 1

If you’ve ever seen one? How about last year when she did exactly the same sloppy thing for Talk That Talk and released what was easily her worst album?

Diamonds is my jam, tho. I give her Kudos for Russian Roulette, We Found Love, and this as being relatively fresh on a mass-consumer scale for their time.

It does seem like we’re gonna get more Rated R this era than happy go lucky Loud Rihanna. So sign me up.

Talk That Talk’s era initiation was far from sloppy. It was actually really innovative with its intergration of social media and allowing people to “unlock” things. This era is however starting off extremely sloppy. The single pretty much appeared out of nowhere besides her mentioning it to about one source. This era has been pretty much like I’m just gonna throw shit at you.
I’m pretty sure they waited so long to start filming the video because they weren’t exactly sure how the song was gonna chart… But I’m glad it’s doing we’ll cause it’s my shit.
I do agree that everything surrounding Rihanna lately has been messy. I just hope this video slays…
