Rihanna to embark on (not so) epic 7 day global tour to promote new album…

Those wondering what is going on with Rihanna’s very messy era and non-existent promo, look no further. The hardworking singer will be going on a special 7 day, 7 city, 7 show tour during the week her new album ‘Unapologetic’ drops in stores. But the promo is not as epic as previous eras. Interested? Read on.

Each day, beginning this week, several listeners of Hot 95-7 will get the chance to win daily Rihanna-related prizes. Those winners will also be in the running to join Rihanna during her travels to seven different countries, while she promotes the album, one day after the other. Check out a list of dates below.

November 15, 2012 Toronto, Canada
November 16, 2012 Stockholm, Sweden
November 17, 2012 Paris, France
November 18, 2012 Berlin, Germany
November 19, 2012 London, England
November 20, 2012 New York City, NY

Judging by these dates, we can also rule out a performance at this years American Music Awards, a promo op that would have come in handy. And she will also miss out on performing on another big platform – UK’s X Factor. I applaud this new promo strategy and think it’s a great idea, BUT it’s a bit lacking if she’s not targeting the huge platforms available. She needed a big awards show performance this era and the AMAs was the biggest one which would have coincided perfectly with her album release.

It is not yet revealed what will take place during this promo tour but it is widely speculated to be performances and interviews. I also think she is going to be tired with all that flying but she clearly means business. ‘Unapologetic’ will drop in stores on November 19th.

*UPDATE: The promo is a big let down considering that in all 7 cities, she will be playing out very small concert venues. WTF.

Toya its not good promo at all. At the 7 cities, she’ll be performing in halls and theatres for a limited number of people and that is not promo if u ask me. I wonder what’s wrong with her team. They never do anything right. Its jst theatre shows now for a huge megastar’s promo. Smh

Forgot this, she will be so drugged up to were it will not be funny.. This is not good at all, plus all the money she will be blowing cause I know she will not have her band travel also so, she will have to place all that electric technology that has saved her in all these different places to perform. Instead of always trying to be #1 she should think about her health the mental part foremost..

Well I guess they felt the need to do something different. I mean her performances have not really helped her album sales as much as her singles. This will be interesting. Why not do it the week before release? Or take the day of the AMA’s out.

Taylor Swift is someone who means BUSINESS when it comes to promo. This is lacking. And, a big award performance can only help an artist if they can perform; she can’t. So, it is smart to not show the world just how untalented she is before her album drops.

Toya, how the fuck is her playing a small venue a let down? It will help her become more personal with her fans being that most people think she is pretty estranged with them. just fine. And after this album goes on and sale over 3 million which is great in the climate she will still be sitting pertty.

Most of the money from album sales goes to the label anyways so why do all this promoting when you can do a world tour and make a whole shit load of money for your self.this is not ciara or brandy who needs every promo they can get. This is rihanna she get promo by going out for dinner
