The Jermaine Dupri-produced ‘Never Give Up’ is lifted from Whitney Houston‘s greatest hits compilation, due November 13th. ‘Never Give Up’ is a moderately laidback, R&B mid-tempo with empowering lyrics about fighting hard for what you believe in. It also serves as one of few new offerings from the compilation, which is called ‘I Will Always Love You: The Best Of Whitney Houston’. Take a listen to the newly premiered song below.

‘Never Give Up’ is pretty much your standard JD and Bryan-Michael Cox offering. It sounds like a lot of their previous cuts, noticeably from Mariah Carey‘s ‘Emancipation’ era and the ones after that one. Although it’s a recycled beat, ‘Never Give Up’ is still a pretty song. Aside from her raspier vocal delivery, the legendary diva still conveys some shining moments in parts of the song. Obviously, hard times have played a part in why she has lost so much power to her voice. But I don’t really see much point in dwelling on it, especially since this has been a known fact for several years now.
