With only a few days left until the release of new album ‘Lotus’, Christina Aguilera presses ahead with what is so far a poor promotional campaign. A campaign set to drum up interest in what was supposed to be her triumphant comeback.

Feast your ears on 5 exclusive tracks from Madame X below…

Introduction

Army of Me

Make the World Move

Let There Be Love

Blank Page

Just a Fool

Fans were invited to hear Christina’s personal insight on the creation and inspiration behind these five exclusives. As expected she tooted her own horn by throwing subtle shade (pop tarts anyone?) at her less talented contemporaries while once again hailing 2010’s Bionic’ in her own words as a ‘masterpiece’(Serious Delusion).

I’m a massive Xtina fan but unlike most of her stans, I’m a truthful and very frank one. I really don’t understand who she’s trying to fool, because for a while, ‘Bionic’ was an underrated album. It’s not as innovative and ground-breaking as she would have you believe because songs such as ‘Not Myself Tonight’ andWooHoo’ demonstrate that she was CLEARLY trying to score major Hot 100 hits.

Regarding the new music previewed here, ‘Just a Fool’ NEEDS to be a single because it is the perfect song to crossover with while maintaining the artistic credibility she oh so desires.  ‘Let There Be Love’ is nothing more than your run of the mill dance-pop but it stands out due to her commanding vocal delivery. After the lack of success she experienced with her last album it’s no surprise that she’s taken this route.  ‘Make the World Move’ is a fun-filled mix of soul and pop with the vocals of Aguilera & Cee-Lo Green meshing together marvelously. ‘Army of Me’ was disappointing on first listen but maybe it’s because she was hyping it up to be a worthy successor of the gutsy & iconic ‘Fighter’ . It’s not bad and with time I should grow to enjoy it more. ‘Blank Page’ as we all know, is simply one of her best ballads and contains perhaps some of her most emotive vocals since ‘Hurt’. This too should also be lined for the single treatment in future.

In simple terms, Lotus is shaping up to be an amazing album.

Welcome Back Christina Aguilera.
