A big fat flop is what Ne-Yo is set to encounter with his new album ‘R.E.D’ next week. Sales predictions are in and it’s really not good. Apparently, the R&B crooner is set to debut with the lowest opening numbers of his career amassing only 50-55k. Despite the lackluster numbers, the songwriter is set to debut at #3 on the Billboard 200. More details to follow.
The latest figures show that his numbers dropped by almost HALF compared to what he sold with 2010′s ‘Libra Scale’ (112k units). Many people (myself included) have disregarded Ne-Yo the moment he let the quality of his music suffer just to go chasing after those radio-friendly hits.
Although lead single ‘Let Me Love You’ cracked the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100, it still could not secure him those decent first week sales. Honestly, if he’s not going to give us quality music, perhaps he should just put on his fake ovaries, pretend to bleed once a month and stick to writing man bashing anthems for Beyonce and ‘em because that is where his bread and butter truly lies.
