Beyoncé is getting personal. The singer will be the focus of an intimate feature-length HBO documentary film premiering Feb 16th, 2013! Anticipated?

Beyonce and HBO have come into partnership for an intimate look into the singer’s life. The announcement follows plans for Beyonce to star in and direct the documentary, debuting on the cable network in February.
According to her Facebook page, the film is a “fusion of video that provides raw, unprecedented access to the private entertainment icon and high-voltage performances.” First-person footage, will be included, some of which was shot by Beyonce on her laptop, where she “reflects on the realities of celebrity, the refuge she finds onstage and the transcendent joy of becoming a mother last year.”
“Everybody knows Beyoncé’s music, but few know Beyoncé the person,” said Michael Lombardo, president of HBO Programming. “Along with electrifying footage of Beyoncé onstage, this unique special looks beyond the glamour to reveal a vibrant, vulnerable, unforgettable woman.”
Beyonce adds: “HBO has a history of pushing every boundary with class and authenticity,” said the singer in a statement. “Some of my favorite shows are on HBO, so I am excited that my film will be part of its bold programming. This film was so personal to me, it had to have the right home.”
February appears to be a massive month for Beyonce. The documentary will highly likely shed further insight on her highly anticipated Super Bowl performance. A performance that also serves as some sort of pre-launch for a musical comeback in the months ahead. The singer is currently hard at work on her fifth studio album which is slated to drop next year.
