Ne-Yo confirms contribution on Beyonce’s new album…

Hitmaker Ne-Yo confirms that he is about to start working on new songs for Beyonce‘s new album. Details after the jump…

Speaking with Billboard at the Z100 Jingle Ball over the weekend, the singer-songwriter adds: “I’m actually about to do some stuff for Beyonce soon — she’s on her way back.”

The pair collaborated on her 2006 mega smash ‘Irreplaceable’ which has sold 3.1 million copies in the States so far (according to Nielsen SoundScan). Check out his confirmation below.

Ne-Yo’s admission comes hot on the heels of Miguel and The-Dream who have all recently confirmed their contribution to the hotly anticipated project. The album is preceded by her upcoming Super Bowl performance and HBO special, all of which ties in nicely with her recently unveiled Pepsi deal. Pow.

I kinda feel the same way. Ne-yo just doesn’t excite me anymore in terms of his music or his songwriting. Meh… I’m not expecting much from Ne-yo or the The-Dream, but I am excited to hear what Miguel cooks up for her. She needs to work with songwriters like “The Clutch” or at least Candace Nelson since I don’t see her working with Keri, LaShawn Daniels, and James Fauntleroy. Those people I mentioned can WRITE!

I was hoping Beyonce would lean more towards unknown songwriters…or at least B.Cox, Brian Mcknight, Emeli Sande, and Missy Elliott only on this album. I strongly believe she was more involved in the writing of Dangerously In love. She needs to place her pen to the pad more often that enlisting all of these writers and taking credit for their mediocre writing….Beyonce is maturing and should be calling on veterans to join her in the studio…i wonder what R.Kelly & Quincy Jones would do for her?

Ne-Yo is not the force to be reckoned with as he once was, so this hardly has me excited. All of his songs are always about the SAAAAAAME shit.

Beyoncé needs to also stay away from Stargate. “Irreplaceable” was a smash, but I was never about that song. It was way too cookie cutter for me. And everything Stargate did for “I am Sasha Fierce” was dusty. I wouldn’t even bury a dead squirrel to “Ave Maria” and I got about as much feeling out of “Broken hearted girl” as my Grandmother’s left leg the day before she had to have that shit amputated because blood weren’t circulating to it.

B is having to come with something SPECIAL. Because Solange did the damn thing with ‘True’ and gave me more in 7 tracks than Beyoncé has given me across 4 albums.
