When Beyoncé takes her ‘Mrs. Carter Show’ World Tour to New Orleans, she will perform during a select night at the Essence Music Festival (July 4th-7th). Due to her shows selling out in less than 20 minutes, it will give fans another chance to see her take to the stage. She will join previously announced acts Jill Scott, Maxwell, New Edition, Charlie Wilson, Keyshia Cole, LL Cool J, Brandy and more. See my two pence below.

I truly hope Beyoncé has a new album out this summer because she is headlining pretty much EVERYWHERE. It just feels like she is wasting MAJOR opportunities when she should have been debuting a new single at the Super Bowl and Grammys. You don’t get platforms bigger than those. Plus, it can be pretty tedious for her to perform the same sets over and over again. Yes, I know she’s Beyoncé and people will sell their right arm just to see her perform ‘Baa Baa Black Sheep’, but it would be nice to see her perform new tracks as well. Are you feeling me on that?
