Justin Timberlake’s ‘20/20’ predicted to sell 750-800K in first week…

New estimates for Justin Timberlake‘s new album are in. And according to Hits Daily Double, one-day sales for ‘The 20/20 Experience’ suggest he is set to push 750k-800k units in his first week!

JT’s marketing campaign has been amazing! After seven agonising years, his extremely loyal fanbase have missed him and have showed it! ‘The 20/20 Experience’ is an R&B album but do not get your hopes up that R&B music has been saved! If Usher released this type of album (one of mediocre standard), he would not have pushed these numbers. JT is doing Taylor Swift numbers (almost) releasing music of a genre that seems to have died.

Needing to add, blue-eyed soul crooner Robin Thicke is coming out with a new single soon with Pharrell Williams so we will just have to wait and see how that fairs! Back to JT though, after watching the visuals for ‘Mirrors’, you can also check out an explanation of the cinematic clip. It makes a whole lot of sense now, if you didn’t get some of it the first time (I know I didn’t).

I know how unfair society is at times.

J.T isn’t bringing back ‘R&B’ or any form of urban music of the sort.

If this album were released by a Black artist, or any other Ethnic artist for that matter, mainstream audiences and radio would’ve paid it DUST. In my opinion, Frank Ocean, Miguel, Elle Varner, Beyonce, Brandy… should be seeing these sales. What is it about their music that is any different to Adele & J.T’s music – besides there skin colour?

That’s why Usher went “Pop” – the music industry, historically speaking, has always been that way. A Black artist can’t achieve mainstream/commercial status if their music is “TOO BLACK”, so they have to water it down. But when it’s a White artist – their hailed as the “Greatest thing ever” and promoted/marketed to oblivion MOST of the time.

  I’ve been saying this for years, very well said. If Adele was black that album would’ve been labelled R&B and mainstream wouldn’t have given two shits same with this JT album and single. What’s funny though is that Robin Thicke actually sells just about the same as a black R&B artist, mainstream actually isn’t into him…

    Robin Thicke is too real for most whites. JT does watered down R&B. Oh did anyone see when they asked Robin about doing a song with JT. You could tell he was like “hell naw”. But, he said, that would be too much whiteness LOL

I think its not a huge number for him! I mean Drake could sell 680K , Taylor 1.2M and Justin only 800K even with ALL DAMN promo! Deserve better btw…

  He’s been away for seven years. These are EXCELLENT numbers especially if he touches 800k. 1m sales in the second week should be easy for him.

I guess this shows hiatuses don’t mean sh*t if you have a loyal fanbase. The album’s good but it’s not as amazing as people are making out (and some songs are way too long). It’s definitely his name selling it imo. Po’ Nelly Furtado. I know she’s sitting in a corner somewhere thinking ‘This should’ve been me’..

  Yeah, esp when TSI is a far better album! Ha. Well I doubt she would think that. JT was whoring himself the whole time he was away with “acting”, entrepreneurship and whatever other shit he does. Nelly was never famous for anything else but her music, her new sound is a lot less polished plus her label barely supported the album, so the flop was a given. Plus what ToldtheTruth said.

As I read about the first weeks sales, I do wonder how many RCA bought. I know Pop fans are loyal, but off a single many called boring he gets this??? Well, if he really sales this much props to his fanbase. Never underestimate how much white people love the mimicking of black music by other whites.
