On last night’s ‘American Idol’ results show, Alicia Keys performed her new single ‘Tears Always Win’, while sitting at her piano. AK has often been berated for her off-key vocals, but this time her performance was simply wonderful!

Fashion fanatics got their life last night when the annual Met Gala came to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. The soiree’s theme? Punk couture! All the A-listers in music came out, from Beyoncé, Jennifer Lopez and Alicia Keys to Madonna and Gwen Stefani. Check out all the decadently fabulous looks and my commentary after the cut!

Alicia Keys drops the NY-themed visuals for her ‘Girl On Fire’ album cut ‘New Day’ earlier today….
As grafitti artists tag her photo on a wall, the 31-year-old dances on the streets of New York city. The clip also intersperses footage from her latest tour with Miguel. Check out the action below.

Mariah Carey has officially been confirmed to kick off ‘Good Morning America: Summer Concert Series’ on May 24th.
This announcement pretty much confirms that we will hear MC’s new single next month. She is stated to have shot the music video already, which reportedly features Miguel. The concert series is one week ahead of the American Idol finale on May 16th, so might she perform the track there too? Check out the full performer list below.

The fire in Alicia Keys‘ stomach is STILL burning. Today, she releases her Chris Robinson-directed music video for ‘Fire We Make’, featuring Maxwell.
The video, which was filmed in New Orleans was very classy, and I liked the throwback concept of a southern romance. Just don’t expect any bedroom action between these two. Despite declaring their attraction, it is done from different hotel rooms and they only get together towards the end. ‘Fire We Make’ is undoubtedly one of the stand-out tracks on Alicia’s latest album ‘Girl On Fire’ so I’m happy this finally received the video treatment. Maxwell’s vocals are simply milk and honey and I’m going to need for him to hurry up with that new album.
Rita Ora and Alicia Keys are featured in ELLE magazine’s ‘Women in Music’ issue (May 2013). I always felt that the blonde washed out Rita’s beauty so it’s really refreshing to see how flawless she looks with this brunette (her natural hair colour). She should revert to it on a more permanent basis. Too bad I can’t say the same about that dress. As for Alicia, something looks a little off but I like that red lipstick on her. She’s currently on the road with her ‘Set The World on Fire’ tour, while Rita is now recording her Stateside debut.
For once, we can attribute the word ‘on’ right before Alicia‘s instrumental stage name, as opposed to ‘off’, which has pretty much been the case for her ‘Girl On Fire’ campaign.
Alicia’s vocals have often cracked on many an occasion. Some days, she will sound like a cat being tortured by lit cigarettes and other days, she has her pleasant moments. This was one of her more pleasant moments I’m pleased to say. Last year I reported how Prince Phillip put his fingers inside his ears during Alicia’s set at the Royal Variety Performance. Audiences did not need the ear plugs at the ready but this is only the first day so she’s fresh and liberated.
Kicking off the third season of ‘Oprah’s Master Class’ is Alicia Keys. She opens up about her journey, successes, marriage to Swizz Beatz, motherhood and much more.
Following her TV domination which included, the Super Bowl, Grammy Awards and NBA All-Star Game, AK is certainly on a roll! “Literally I was running from pimps and prostitutes to boom, I was on the ‘Oprah’ show!” says Alicia in the promo clip. Check out a sneak peek look at her segment below and be sure tune into the full episode this coming Sunday on March 3rd, at 10/9c on OWN.
Following her burnt-out NBA All Star game halftime performance, Alicia Keys visited ‘The Wendy Williams Show’ to perform ‘Brand New Me’ off her latest album ‘Girl On Fire’.
This performance was a lot more pleasant than the one she served up last night. It’s one of her “easier” songs to execute live and she doesn’t struggle to sing it as much as the deeply over-saturated ‘Girl On Fire’. No, it wasn’t perfect, but at least the vocals were softer, better pitch control was put in place and she was not sounding like ten cats being skinned alive.
