New Music: Cassie – ‘RockaByeBaby’ [mixtape]…

Making up for the sophomore album that will never be, Cassie drops her New Jack City inspired mixtape ‘RockaByeBaby’. What we’ve gathered from it is that Cassie has gone straight up gangster. She’s abandoned that delicate sweetness which added to her appeal, and now she wears hood clothes, swears profusely in her songs and embraces gun culture. On top of that, she teams up with a gang of rappers for the features. I don’t think I like this side of Cassie as it just seems so forced to me. But if you’re feeling it, here’s a download/stream to her mixtape below.

Video Premiere: Cassie feat. Wiz Khalifa – ‘Paradise’…

Check out ride or die chick Cassie in her new music video for ‘Paradise’. In the Alex Nazari-directed clip, the model cruises the streets of LA in a Chevy with pal Karrueche Tran and rapper Wiz Khalifa. The crew also enjoy their laid back paradise lair, chilling out during their little weed session and checking out planes. She also took the time out to visit BET’s ’106 & Park’ last night to premiere the clip and give it more exposure. Cassie’s ‘RockaAByeBaby’ mixtape drops tomorrow, so the hustling was very much needed at this point. Check out the summery visuals below.

Trailer: Cassie feat. Wiz Khalifa – ‘Paradise’…

Sometimes I think Diddy must have some next level contract with Cassie. They’ve been forcing this music career thing for far too long, and the fact that she’s releasing mixtapes when she’s dating a man that owns a record label makes no damn sense to me. Check out the trailer for her Alex Nazari-directed video ‘Paradise’, which is lifted off her forthcoming ‘RockaByeBaby’ mixtape (due April 11th). It was shot in the streets of LA and features a cameo appearance from Karrueche Tran. Two bad-ass chicks in a Chevy? For the fellas, that’s definitely one to watch out for.

Video Premiere: Cassie feat. Rick Ross – ‘Numb’…

Here’s Cassie‘s new music video for ‘Numb’, featuring Rick Ross. It’s the first offering from her ‘RockaByeBaby’ mixtape which drops April 11th, 2013. Directed by Alex Nazari, Cassie walks with swag on several Hollywood settings including a beach and some hazy roads. It’s a bit of a waster but the song itself isn’t half bad. It’s just hilarious when she says ‘I make music to numb your brain’, like that’s suppose to be a good thing. LOL. This girl makes it way too easy I swear. And then Diddy had the nerve to premiere the video on World Star Hip Hop of all places. Shame on him.

Snapshots: Cassie shoots ‘Paradise’ video…

Cassie was spotted shooting the music video for ‘Paradise’ this week with her boyfriend Diddy, Wiz Khalifa and Karrueche Tran. The track is lifted from her long awaited new mixtape ‘Rockabyebaby’.

Diddy was on set to give his beau some support and Karrueche appears to be BFF’s with everyone these days. She tends to show up in the most random of places but whatevs. Good to see that she’s taking her music career seriously, at least to some degree anyway. If you missed the trailer for her forthcoming ‘Rockabyebaby’ mixtape, you can watch it here. And you can also check out the mixtape when it drops online April 11th.

Trailer: Cassie – ‘Rocka Bye Baby’…

Cassie releases the trailer for her upcoming new mixtape ‘Rocka Bye Baby’. The trailer arrives three weeks ahead of its April 11th drop date.

The dark and sinister clip features footage of a shooting scene from the iconic movie ‘New Jack City’, which inspired the set’s title. It’s good she’s trying to create hype for her new music, even if it’s just for a poxy mixtape. I don’t think we will ever get an album from her so this is as good as it’s going to get I’m afraid. ‘King of Hearts’ was a good track that went to waste and her boyfriend Diddy is a lost cause when it comes to her music career, or what’s left of it anyway.

Cassie announces ‘RockaByeBaby’ mixtape release date…

Cassie‘s struggling music career has always been evident in her lack of consistencies. However, she gives fans an inkling of hope by announcing an April release date for her mixtape ‘RockaByeBaby’.

Taking to Twitter, she thanked fans for their patience and revealed that the mixtape will drop online on April 11th. The compilation is set to encompass an eclectic array of genres (not pop, not R&B, but Cassie). It will feature collaborations from Rick Ross, Meek Mill, Wiz Khalifa, Jeremih, and 2 Chainz. ‘RockaByeBaby’ will also include the LoLa Monroe and Trina assisted ‘All Gold’, All Girls’, the remix to Trinidad James’ ‘All Gold Everything’, released back in January.

Snapshots: Cassie’s smoking new spread for ‘ASOS’ magazine…

Model with a mic Cassie is featured in the new April issue of British women’s fashion trends magazine ASOS. You’re probably thinking, another photoshoot and no music?

Many of her fans are wondering what is going on with her career. And regardless of all the talk,  nothing much has escalated. She doesn’t seem to care that much which is a shame as she had potential. She’s so sprung on Diddy‘s tail that it doesn’t even matter anymore. She just announced that she’s going to unveil the release date for her ‘RockaBye Baby’ mixtape in less than a week! We’ll believe it when we see it.

Bad Boy princess Cassie teams up with female rappers Trina and LoLa Monroe on ‘All Gold, All Girls’. The swaggerific anthem serves as a remix to Trinidad James‘All Gold Everything’, which will appear on Cassie’s upcoming mixtape ‘Rock-A-Bye Baby’.

This sounds very Ciara-ish, but it’s not really effective. The song doesn’t excite me and she’s barely singing on it. I liked LoLa Monroe’s part the best but the song is just ‘there’ for me. This will probably be added to the many irrelevant Cassie joints waiting to gather dust.
