After supporting Keyshia Cole on tour, she is set to embark on her own tour later this year. She also visited The Breakfast Club recently to discuss her album and her latest tour stint with KC. R&B’s latest instigator kicked off her ‘Woman to Woman’ tour this week. One of Keyshia‘s tour stops included the Chrysler Hall in Norfolk, VA, with Chrisette Michele serving as her support act. Nice to see Keyshia putting all her priorities into the music. Chrisette Michele is back with a visual for her new Pop & Oak produced single ‘A Couple Of Forevers’. The wedding number is the first offering off her upcoming new album ‘Better’, due April 30th.
Directed by Derek Blanks, the visual is centered around Ms. Michele and her love interest enjoying every aspect of their romantic relationship. The video is everything I expected especially for the type of song that it is. But she looks like a ghetto hoodrat in this video. Everything from the unflattering lipstick, the tattoos and even the piercing. It’s not difficult to see she’s a very pretty lady, so why devalue that natural beauty?
Valentines Day is not too far away, and Chrisette Michele is basking in it on ‘A Couple of Forevers’! The heartfelt number serves as the first single from her upcoming new album ‘Better’, which will drop in stores on April 20th! Produced by Pop & Oak and written by Tiwa Savage and Wansel, the track will see a digital release on February 5th and impact radio on February 11th.
Clearly, this was not made for cross-over radio but it could do well on Urban/Adult Contemporary formats. For the soulful ballad about everlasting love, Chrisette samples the classic ‘Stairway to Heaven’ by the O’Jays! The vocals are breathtaking and the high notes levitate the soul!
Chrisette Michele announces on Twitter the official release date for her forthcoming new album ‘Better.’ The project will drop in stores on April 30th and follows her latest mixtape, ‘Audrey Hepburn: An Audiovisual Presentation.’ The LP also serves as the follow-up to 2010’s ‘Let Freedom Reign.’ I love her voice, so with an album being titled ‘Better’, one can genuinely hope it actually is.
