Remaking Beyoncé’s ‘Crazy In Love’ was always going to be a unique process for those attempting it. And Emeli Sandé puts her own brassy spin on the iconic number.

The Scottish singer/songwriter collaborates with The Bryan Ferry Orchestra, which sees her join Beyoncé on the soundtrack of Baz Lurhman’s forthcoming movie, ‘The Great Gatsby’, available May 7th.

A new upset: Emeli Sandé breaks Beatles chart record…

Chart history has been made now that Emeli Sandé has spent the most consecutive weeks in the UK Top 10 with a debut album.

‘Our Version of Events’ has smashed a record held by The Beatles for nearly 50 years. The project, which became the biggest-selling album of 2012, has spent 63 weeks in the UK Top 10 in comparison to The Beatles’ 62-week reign.

With the assistance of a full band, the singer empowered souls with flawless performances of ‘Next To Me’ and ‘Heaven’. Kudos to her for not giving up on the States. We can only hope that at some point they warm up to her in return.

With only a few weeks left until Emeli Sandé releases her tour DVD ‘Live at The Royal Albert Hall’, the singer and her team give fans a glimpse of what to expect by uploading official performance footage from the set. Two performances uploaded to Emeli’s official VEVO channel consist of ‘Clown’ and ‘Next To Me’.

Her debut album, ‘Our Version of Events’, was the biggest-selling UK album of 2012, so it’s definitely a wise decision to take further advantage from the album’s momentum. Hell, why not? Adele certainly did! You can purchase the DVD when it drops in stores on February 18th. Enjoy the footage!

Watch: Emeli Sandé performs two-song set on ‘The Today Show’…

Emeli Sandé‘s debut LP ‘Our Version Of Events’ became the first album to sell more than a million copies in the UK last year. Sadly, the same could not be said for her Stateside sales which has yet to hit the 50k mark since its release. However, she was back on Stateside territory to tour several cities and to perform on ‘The Today Show’.

Once she hit the stage, she delivered stunning performances of ‘Next to Me’ and ‘My Kind of Love’. They were absolutely beautiful. Honestly, how can US audiences NOT appreciate this type of talent? Her competition is Adele so perhaps there was not enough room for two UK divas of similar age to rule America. *shrugs*

Emeli Sandé, Rihanna & Rita Ora score BRIT Awards nominations…

The 2013 Brit Awards were announced earlier today and some of our favourites picked up big. Scottish singer-songwriter Emeli Sandé leads the pack with four nominations (British Female, British Album for ‘Our Version of Events’ and British Single for ‘Next To Me’ and her feature on Labrinth‘s ‘Beneath Your Beautiful’). Rita Ora also snags three nods (British Breakthrough Act and two in the British Single category for ‘R.I.P.’ and ‘Hot Right Now’ with DJ Fresh). Rihanna is nominated twice (British Single for her duet with Coldplay, ‘Princess of China’ and International Female Solo Artist).
