Actress and singer Fantasia Barrino has been promoting her fourth studio album, ‘Side Effects of You’ which debuted at the top of the Billboard’s R&B chart.

During her visit on the ‘Today’ show on Wednesday, she tells Kathie Lee and Hoda that even though the past 10 years have been a roller coaster, she is always open about her “testimony.”

Fantasia’s life since winning ‘American Idol’ has been insane. Under her own doing, there have been times where she’s thrown herself under a bus. But the important thing is, after a suicide bid and the loss of her home, she’s now in a better place. This really is reflected in the music.

Snapshots: Fantasia & Kelly Rowland shoot ‘Without Me’ video…

There is not much to say about Fantasia‘s new song ‘Without Me’ besides the fact that, IT’S HOT!

So, it’s exciting to see the Missy Elliott featured song receiving the video treatment. Kelly Rowland‘s body is so fierce, I’m surprised Fanny had no qualms about assisting the gym-a-holic in rocking a very tight, form fitting cat suit. But then again, she HAS shed some serious pounds and looks amazing. Go gals!

The video, which was shot in Los Angeles, is expected to premiere in the coming weeks, and the song can be found on Fanny’s latest ‘Side Effects Of Me’ album.

Fantasia scores #2 debut with ‘Side Effects of You’…

Fantasia‘s new album ‘Side Effects of You’ debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200 with sales in excess of 91K copies sold during its first week.

This is her third top ten entry since winning American Idol nine years ago. It is also the SECOND highest selling album from an R&B female singer after Alicia Keys ‘Girl On Fire’ in December 2012. That one entered the Billboard 200 at #1 with 159K copies sold. Not bad considering that lead single, ‘Lose to Win’ failed to debut on the Billboard Hot 100!

Watch: Fantasia performs ‘Lose to Win’ on ‘The View’…

Continuing with the promo trail of her fourth album ‘Side Effects of You’, Fantasia visited ‘The View’ for a performance and interview.

The 28-year-old singer sat down with the hosts to discuss the darker aspects of her life and how she’s moved forward. Latest single ‘Lose to Win’ also received the live treatment.

Watch: Fantasia performs on GMA + album sales predictions…

Fantasia‘s new album ‘Side Effects of You’ is on course to enter the top 10 of the Billboard 200 with sales of 90-95K units. What do these numbers mean?

Despite figures portraying a continuing decline in Fanny’s album sales, they are one of the strongest first week numbers from a female R&B artist in the last year alone. Read on for more insight.

Watch: Fantasia performs electric ‘Centric Live’ set…

Last month, Fantasia shot a live concert at The Filmore for Centric Live, which just aired this weekend. As can be expected from the 28-year-old, she ditched her shoes to perform new material from her forthcoming album ‘Side Effects of You’. Fanny can sell just about any record live which is what I admire about her the most. Hopefully RCA promotes the album for the long haul, and we don’t get another Brandy situation on our hands. Check out her wig snatching performances of ‘Lose to Win’, and the upbeat ‘Get It Right’ after the jump.

Yassss honey, slay that stage! If anyone knows how to put all of their heart and soul into a performance, it’s Ms Fantasia Barrino. Last night on American Idol, she let her impeccable vocals do the talking while belting out her emotional new single ‘Lose to Win’. The performance takes you back to the days of her A.I. victory almost 10 years ago and why she won the show. You felt EVERYTHING in this performance. The sentimental value, the out-pour of emotion, every damn thang. Even the judges were emotionally bowled over. Her new album ‘Side Effects of You’ drops in stores next week (April 23rd). Now check out the flawlessness below.

New Music: Fantasia – ‘Get It Right’…

Fantasia is premiering select songs from her ‘Side Effects of You’ album to various radio stations. The latest one to pop up is the uptempo ‘Get It Right’, which debuted last night courtesy of 97.9 The Beat. On ‘Get It Right’ Fantasia fuses funk, go-go, soul and Rock & Roll which is reminiscent to what the legendary Tina Turner would release during the peak of her career! The song is fun, energetic and certainly commands a massive live band performance. And being the type of performer that she is, you just know she’d go OTT on stage. Check out the track and groove to the beat below!

Watch: Fantasia debuts new tracks on Google Hangout…

With less than a week to go before her new album ‘Side Effects of You’ hit retailers (April 23rd), Fantasia interacted with her fans during a special Google Hangout. She debuted new songs from the project, and was joined by her songwriter Harmony Samuels. Fanny also used the moment to give fans a track by track ‘testimony’ for the record and received some support from Destiny’s Child stars Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams.

They arrived for the listening party which took place at LA’s London Bridge Studios. The album sounds really good and I hope everyone here supports it. Make sure you tune into American Idol tomorrow to catch her performance.

With only two weeks to go before Fantasia drops her new album ‘Side Effects Of You’ (April 23rd), she releases her second single ‘Without Me’, featuring Kelly Rowland and Missy Elliott. The ladies call out their good for nothing men on the chilled out bass thumping number. The cut, co-written and produced by Kyle Stewart, Harmony Samuels, Al Sherrod Lambert, Missy, and Fantasia is an absolute banger! I think it will do well on urban formats.

It’s nice to hear Fantasia giving us that tamed vocal delivery. We all know how much she loves to yell over a song. In fact, this new vocal styling is so pleasant, she should utilise it more often.
