Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson and Brit sensation Adele both performed at last night’s 85th Annual Academy Awards at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.
J. Hud belted out ‘And I Am Telling You’ from Dreamgirls, the very film that won her an Oscar back in 2007. A standing-o well deserved as she took us to church! Adele took home her first Oscar for Best Original Song, and gave us a very powerful performance of her winning track ‘Skyfall’, the ‘James Bond 007: Skyfall’ theme. Tonight’s Super Bowl saw Grammy winning singer Jennifer Hudson being assisted by students from Sandy Hook Elementary School for a powerful, very emotional performance of ‘America the Beautiful’. The performance was in honour of the 26 children and faculty members that were tragically killed during the mass shooting in Newtown, Connecticut, little over a month ago. J.Hud did a really nice job vocally, and she was bringing home that raw, organic gospel to football.

The latest Whitney Houston tribute will be a concert next month, entitled ‘We Will Always Love You: A Grammy Salute to Whitney Houston’. R&B stars Usher, Jennifer Hudson and R. Kelly are the first performers announced to honour the late diva. Although the one-hour special will be filmed on October 11th at the Nokia Theatre, it won’t see a broadcast until November on CBS. The show will consist of unseen footage and exclusive interviews from several artists cherishing her memory.
