John Legend drops the visuals for his new single ‘Who Do We Think We Are’ featuring Rick Ross. The crooner hosts a lavish costume party at his mansion, where he enjoys mingling with a bunch of malnourished chicks. Many of them, looking like they could do with eating a burger or two.
Mariah Carey has officially been confirmed to kick off ‘Good Morning America: Summer Concert Series’ on May 24th.
This announcement pretty much confirms that we will hear MC’s new single next month. She is stated to have shot the music video already, which reportedly features Miguel. The first single from John Legend‘s fourth studio album, ‘Love In The Future’ debuted earlier today. The track is called ‘Who Do We Think We Are’ and it features rapper Rick Ross. Legend’s new album is executive-produced by Kanye West and Dave Tozer and set to arrive in stores on June 25th via Columbia/G.O.O.D. Music. Take a listen to ‘Who Do We Think We Are’ after the cut.
The soulful track commences with some soothing piano riffs before those suave, chilled out drums kick in. Although some of the high notes are hit and miss, the baritone crooner still manages to compliment the love cut in certain areas with those buttery vocals. I’ve been many a fan of his music, but I’m not really liking this song very much. It’s been five years since he dropped his last album ‘Evolver’, and I was hoping for something a little more light and fun with some feel-good sentiments.
R&B plagued the NBA All-Star show last night when Alicia Keys, Ne-Yo & John Legend all took to the stage! Alicia performed ‘Empire State of Mind (Part 2)’, ‘Girl on Fire’ ‘No One’ and ‘New Day’. It would seem AK is losing her voice from singing ‘Girl On Fire’ a little too much. The vocals were pretty shot and the performance could easily have been used in an advert to plug a cough medicine.
Meanwhile, John had the National Anthem sounding like a gospel service. It was like he was singing for every man that’s felt pain and struggled. Those spiritual, preachy choir vocals oozed butter on a hot stack of pancakes. All hearty, warm and soulful!
Who said you had to be a country singer to be part of the ‘CMA Christmas special’? John Legend sprinkled some soul to the ceremony performing with Sugarland’s Jennifer Nettles, right before she gave birth to a baby boy.
Not only has John Legend previewed a new song from his upcoming new album ‘Love in the Future’, he has also announced a new Stateside tour (click here for dates and venues). Tickets go on sale this week!
The new song you’re about to hear in the clip, is entitled ‘Caught Up’, which was co-written by Kanye West and produced by Hit-Boy. Legend is executive-producing the project himself alongside Kanye and Dave Tozer. ‘Caught Up’ sounds GREAT!!!! I’m anticipated.
Jordin Sparks performed ‘I Will Always Love You’ for Whitney Houston at the 2012 Billboard Awards, while John Legend performed ‘Greatest Love of All’.
