JoJo says her record label has stopped communicating with her…

Feeling bad for Jojo? You certainly will after reading this. In an interview with Rolling Stone, JoJo says her record label Blackground has stopped communicating with her.

She adds that she’d like nothing more to release a third studio album, but would prefer to do so under a label that is supportive and knows how to market an album. In order for fans to hear new music, she had to release free mixtapes instead. “It’s hard to flourish as an artist when the industry as a whole wants nothing to do with the label you are signed to” she says. JoJo is far too talented to be stuck in somebody’s gutter. The worst thing about it is that she has more to offer than a lot of the popular artists out right now. Hopefully, her persistence pays off in the end.

Video Premiere: JoJo – ‘Andre’…

Young powerhouse JoJo dishes the music video for ‘Andre’, the latest cut off her critically acclaimed mixtape ‘Agape’.

The song is an expression of her love for Outkast frontman André Benjamin. At her beau’s workplace in an art gallery, JoJo gushes over her Mr. Right. The Embryo-directed clip is standard form and uses the cinema effect to make it look pretty against that graffiti backdrop. It was filmed in dowtown Los Angeles and features cameo appearances from her fellow R&B girlfriends – Leah LaBelle and Karina Pasian. Actually, their appearances are quite fitting since their nails must be real grubby trying to climb out of their underground lair.

Watch: JoJo’s ‘StageIt’ concert…

Last night, JoJo performed a short set on StageIt for her fans. Paying fans were treated to an array of JoJo hits during the acoustic showing.

JoJo and Leah labelle took the time out to duet on ‘Ordinary People’ by John Legend and did a rather superb job. JoJo also belted out ‘Billions,’ ‘Disaster’ and the full version of ‘Thinking Out Loud.’ JoJo’s reasoning for not releasing the whole song on her ‘Agape’ mixtape was due to high self-consciousness of her work, and not being certain whether she’d release it or not. Check out the full concert below!

Snapshots: JoJo shoots ‘Andre’ music video…

Peep some photos of JoJo filming the music video for ‘Andre’, the latest single from her recently dropped mixtape ‘Agape’. The video shoot took place yesterday on a rooftop overlooking Los Angeles as well as in front of the Hive Gallery.

Jojo looked pretty fierce on set. While it could be a long while before she actually releases a studio album, she keeps herself on her toes. What her career has become is really sad especially for a girl that has her type of talent. Still, I think there’s some hope yet and I’m always pulling for a comeback of sorts.
