Seems Justin Timberlake will be living in a suitcase this year. He has just announced a worldwide solo tour beginning this fall and after his co-headlining trek with Jay-Z wraps up. ‘The 20/20 Experience’ world tour is an international trek that will run through 2014 and see him visit multiple countries including North America, Europe, South America, and Australia.

If you enjoyed what Justin Timberlake served up with his comeback album ‘The 20/20 Experience’, fans will be pleased to know about today’s latest development. For the 32-year-old has just announced the release date for it’s impending sequel by posting the below photo on Instagram.
Taking to the stage on The Ellen Degeneres Show, Justin Timberlake performed his latest single, ‘Mirrors’, as well as album cut ‘Pusher Love Girl’.
JT’s latest album ‘The 20/20 Experience’ is fast approaching 2 million sales in the States and it’s only been out for little over a month. However, further promotion certainly doesn’t hurt his cause.
So, Justin Timberlake didn’t sell a million copies in his first week, but he came dangerously close! His new album ‘The 20/20 Experience’ will debut at #1 on the Billboard 200. The set, preceded by hit singles ‘Suit & Tie’ with Jay-Z, and ‘Mirrors’, has sold 968,000 copies, according to SoundScan. Such a feat makes ’20/20′ the sixth highest debut since 2005 and the biggest for a male artist since Lil’ Wayne’s ‘Tha Carter IV’ in 2011 (964,000 units). Congrats! Official numbers will be released tomorrow. Below, we take a look at the highest-selling debut weeks below…
A congrats is in order for Justin Timberlake. Today, he nabs his third UK #1 album with ‘The 20/20 Experience’, selling over 109K copies in it’s first week. It gets even better. Reports now suggest first week album sales in the States for ’20/20′ could pull in as much as 900-950k, even topping a million, possibly. This also has his touring partner Jay-Z excited and causing him to come out of his Twitter hibernation. This would easily make the project one of this years biggest releases. Not only that, but one of the fastest selling of the decade, and marking JT’s biggest first week solo sales to date. And this my friends, is what seven-year hunger looks like.
New estimates for Justin Timberlake‘s new album are in. And according to Hits Daily Double, one-day sales for ‘The 20/20 Experience’ suggest he is set to push 750k-800k units in his first week!
JT’s marketing campaign has been amazing! After seven agonising years, his extremely loyal fanbase have missed him and have showed it! ‘The 20/20 Experience’ is an R&B album but do not get your hopes up that R&B music has been saved! If Usher released this type of album (one of mediocre standard), he would not have pushed these numbers. JT is doing Taylor Swift numbers (almost) releasing music of a genre that seems to have died.
The cinematic visual is a tribute to his grandparents William and Sadie based on their love story of an everlasting romance. The video captured the emotion really well and it was very nice to watch. A great story was told, which should have stopped at THAT point. When JT made a choreographic appearance towards the end sliding through mirrors and vice versa, I just felt the video lost some of its purpose. Still, JT is on a major roll because early estimates suggest that his new album is expected to sell as much as 600,000 copies in its first week!
So now it’s official! Justin Timberlake confirms that his new album ‘The 20/20 Experience’ will service a volume 2 package later on in the year.
This now explains why the first part of the album has just 10 songs – “10 tracks now, 10 tracks later” (hence 20/20). Speaking to Ryan Seacrest, JT says: “I’ve got to clear up the rumours. This whole thing about this only being the first part… is true” he says. “There IS another half. I’m not giving you a release date”. Guess he feels really good about the album’s potential. It just didn’t meet the hype at all, and if it does well, it will only do so because he had excellent promo and his name is Justin Timberlake.
Following his week-long residency on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, JT performed during a ‘secret show’, giving fans a rousing set at the Coppertank in Austin. Only a lucky few were invited to the show. Using the event to perform new and old cuts, JT grooved it up on stage looking a little more casual than usual. He wore a suit and tie T-shirt to show us that he was STILL on his suit and tie sh*t WITHOUT the presence of his touring partner Jay-Z.
He discussed the recording process, his chemistry with Timbaland, why he took so long to release new music, his musical inspirations, upcoming tour with Jay-Z, collaborating with Beyonce and more. He also confirmed recording several tracks with Jay-Z and hoping for fans to hear them at some point. That looks likely to come true, because according to QuestLove from The Roots, ‘The 20/20 Experience’ will consist of a Volume 2, slated to drop in November.
