Video Premiere: Melanie Fiona – ‘Wrong Side of a Love Song’…

Released through Jay-Z‘s ‘Life+Times’, Melanie Fiona finally drops the video for her new single ‘Wrong Side of a Love Song’. The Larenz Tate-directed clip uses split screen editing to narrate the good and bad side of a relationship. One day they’re enjoying fun pillow fights and making love. The next, they’re arguing and turning their backs on each another. Ladies are in for quite the treat when they get to clap their eyes on a topless Omar Hardwick. Tasty!

Peep some behind the scenes footage from Melanie Fiona’s upcoming music video for her new single, ‘Wrong Side of a Love Song’. The clip was distributed by Jay-Z‘s Life+Times and comes a few days before she finds out whether she’s snagged a Grammy for Best Traditional R&B Performance. Good luck on that nod! Although Melanie has started work on a third studio album, she is still not quite done with her latest one, ‘The MF Life’ yet. Marketing (on her label’s behalf) has been poor, so a new video is hardly going to make an impact but at least fans get to enjoy a fresh visual from her. Check it out in the making below.

Watch: Melanie Fiona & Michael Bolton duet on ‘Leno’…

Soul sista Melanie Fiona has been on the promotional tip lately, helping Michael Bolton promote his upcoming Motown covers album ‘Ain’t No Mountain High Enough: Tribute Hitsville’. The pair dropped by ‘The Tonight Show with Jay Leno’ to perform a soulfully stirring rendition of Marvin Gaye‘s ’60s classic ‘Ain’t Nothing Like the Real Thing’, which just so happens to be one of my mum’s personal favourites.

Video Premiere: Melanie Fiona feat. B.O.B – ‘Change The Record’…

Roc Nation star Melanie Fiona released her latest album ‘The MF Life’ earlier this year. As strong an album as it was, the album seemed like it was put on the backburner and she later joined R&B veterans Mary J. Blige and D’Angelo on their ‘Liberation’ tour. Now she’s back putting some focus  into the album by releasing a vibrant music video for ‘Change the Record’, which features B.o.B.

The King of Pop would have celebrated his 54th birthday, yesterday. However, the celebration went on and to commemorate Michael Jackson‘s legacy and astonishing contributions to music, R&B stars such as Ne-Yo and Melanie Fiona paid tribute. The show, which was in collaboration with Pepsi and Billboard, saw both stars take to the stage to perform songs from their own back catalogue, as well as some of MJ’s classics. The Summer Beats concert took place at Gotham Hall on August 29th in New York City.

Melanie opted to perform ‘Dirty Diana’ and ‘Bad’, while Ne-Yo opted to perform ‘I Just Can’t Stop Loving You’, ‘The Way You Make Me Feel’ and ‘Smooth Criminal’.  If you’ve ever followed Ne-Yo closely, you will know he has always been an MJ imitator right down to the very last detail, so all this was second nature to him. Melanie on the other hand, actually surprised me.

Video Premiere: Melanie Fiona feat. J. Cole – ‘This Time’…

Melanie Fiona’s latest music video for her No I.D.-produced new single ‘This Time’ debuted last night on BET’s 106 & Park. The Colin Tilley-directed visual shows Melanie looking like a flawless goddess while rolling around on a giant clock. Fiona clearly has great chemistry with her Roc Nation brother, rapper J. Cole and visually, it follows a simple concept which totally fits the song. Fiona’s latest album ‘The MF Life’ has struggled this era. Although she’s never really been an album seller, I’m still happy this song received a decent visual despite its small budget. I never noticed it until now but J. Cole is kind of hot.
