It’s coming! Mariah Carey will debut the video for her new single, ‘Beautiful’ on American Idol on May 8th (two days after the song premieres). The Miguel assisted cut has been described as a mid tempo pop song with a usually catchy and sophisticated melody, and is introduced by an acoustic guitar.

Talented crooner Miguel recently recruited Kendrick Lamar for the remix to his new single ‘How Many Drinks?’. Now he drops the colourful performance-based music video which was directed by Clark Jackson in L.A.
Kendrick brings this song new life. But it was his spectacular maze outfit that became the best part of the video. I’m thinking it HAS to be a Cali thing. It’s gotta be right? As for the clip, it’s always nice to see artists having fun in their visuals. Miguel’s impressive album ‘Kaledoscope Dream’ is out now and he’ll be releasing another edition of his ‘Art Dealer Chic’ EP series this summer.
Serving as last night’s musical guest, Miguel took to the stage on Saturday Night Live. As usual, he performed his hit single ‘Adorn’, but if you fancied something a little fresher, he delivered a guitar-laced arrangement to ‘How Many Drinks’. An interesting one right? It was like watching Prince on crack, mixed in with some James Brown. It’s only a matter of time before he starts wearing stilettos and black eye liner. As for the music, both tracks can be found on Miguel’s critically acclaimed sophomore album ‘Kaleidoscope Dream’, out now.
I’ve always said on here that Miguel is like a new generation Prince. They’re both metro, eclectic in their musical styles, real eccentric in their performances and love themselves a good ol’ perm. Therefore, it comes as no surprise that he’ll be breathing the same air as his idol when he performs at the 2013 Billboard Music Awards this summer. The ceremony will honour Prince with the prestigious Icon Award for his astonishing contributions to the music industry, and he’s performing there as well. Miguel now joins Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift and Bruno Mars to take to the stage at this year’s ceremony. The show will broadcast live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas via ABC at 8pm ET on May 19th. I’ll definitely have my stan-on for the great one that night.
