During a press conference last night for this years BET Awards, Tamar Braxton confirms that her forthcoming new album ‘Love & War’ has been pushed back to September. Hardly surprising now is it?
Powerhouse singer Tamar Braxton serves us with ‘The One’, the second single to be lifted from her sophomore album ‘Love & War’. The cut was produced by Yung Berg and LaShawn Daniels and she shot the beachy visuals for it last month in Santa Monica. Once again, the pregnant reality star seems to be shoe stepping Keyshia Cole for the second time.
We don’t often see much of Tamar‘s saintly side, but she DOES have one, ya know. For her, it all started in the Church and she revisited those gospel roots during a performance on BET’s ‘Celebration of Gospel’. The pregnant diva rocked a pretty Marc Bouwer gown, belting out a powerful rendition of Walter Hawkins’ ‘Be Grateful’. In doing that, she earned herself a standing ovation in the process. Her personality may not be so people-friendly but when she sings, she warms the heart.
Pregnant Tamar Braxton visited BET’s ’106 & Park’ yesterday, to discuss her upcoming album, baby cravings and more. She says she intends to pimp out the child on her reality show ‘Braxton Family Values’ but does not know to what extent yet. Why does that not even surprise me? Can’t say I’m feeling her Kanye West-designed Giuseppe Zanotti wedges but I’m definitely checking for her new album. The new single drops in two weeks time and her album, which she says is 85 percent complete, is due late summer on Epic Records.
Reality TV couple Tamar & Vince visited Power 105′s The Breakfast Club yesterday morning to promote her new single ‘Love & War’. Not just the single, but her upcoming new album of the same name. They discuss the song’s success, her next single, the release date of her album, and more. Now it’s been put out that her sophomore album will no longer drop on February 12th as initially planned. Rather, it has now been pushed back to March 5th, 2013.
This was clearly done so that she has enough time to put out a second single (possibly ‘Hot Sugar’ or ‘The One’) and promote it ahead of the album release. You can check out her interview after the fold.
Tamar Braxton is on her promo hustle. The singer dropped by ’106 & Park’ to officially premiere her new music video for latest single ‘Love and War’. She unveiled an interesting tidbit herself, such as the big dispute she had with her husband Vince over choice of lead single. While she was pitching for the club jam ‘Hot Sugar’, Vince, who also manages Lady Gaga, opted against it.
Had she got her own way, she may not have encountered a #1 single with ‘Love and War’, which topped both iTunes charts in 12 hours. Although Tamar did some backing vocals for her her pal, Gaga’s ‘Born This Way’, the singer says a collaboration is not in the cards because while she totally respects Gaga as an artist, they are in two completely different lanes. Finally, the visuals for Tamar Braxton‘s ‘Love and War’ has finally arrived! In the Walid Azami-directed video, the powerhouse songstress poses on sandy beaches getting her sexy on. There are also scenes cutting back to her Hollywood Hills mansion showcasing the good and bad times of her relationship. A muscle-bound hunk also serves as her leading man in the black and white clip.
More variety in her wardrobe and additional focus on her relationship woes would have been good. But at least she conceptualised the lyrics, and the visual was purposefully very simple and understated. Previously, the track has enjoyed #1 success on iTunes, and sold 84k in it’s first week of download sales. ‘Love and War’ also serves as the first single from her forthcoming new album of the same name, out on February 12th. According to Tamar, the concept is centered around a married couple facing several challenges in their relationship. The face of her love interest is never unmasked because she wants female viewers to connect to the story by visualising the face as that of their spouses. Check out some behind the scenes tea below.
R&B singer and reality star Tamar Braxton performed ‘Love & War’ at Billboard Live in Chicago the other day. Her husband Vince was by her side showing his support as the crowd sang along with her. Not that Tamar needed the assistance because her vocals were truly the business and she was really laidback. Say what you want about those two and whatever issues they may have, but their marriage is as rock solid as they come. Tamar is gearing up to release her new album ‘Love & War’ in February.
