Video Premiere: Trey Songz – ‘Fumble’…

Trey Songz faces up to his mistakes in the emotional new video for his balladry single ‘Fumble’, from latest album ‘Chapter V’.

The R&B crooner is very apologetic to his woman because he was not the man to her that he should have been. Tormented by his wrongs, he is seen travelling around the world regretting what became of that relationship. “It’s basically a song about having the one person that’ll do whatever for you, the one person that’ll go to the end of the world and back, and you not realizing it until it’s damn near too late,” he told Billboard. “It’s essentially about having someone’s heart in your hands and dropping it.”

Sneak Peek: Trey Songz – ‘Fumble’…

‘Chapter V’ was one of many R&B releases that underperformed last year, so I’m totally impressed that Trey Songz is keeping his distribution of music visuals on a very consistent basis.

Artists like Christina Aguilera pull the plug on an entire album just because a lead single under-performs or because sales for an album remain ridiculously low. Of course the numbers will remain the same if you don’t plug the freaking record! I’m thinking, you selfish cow! If you don’t want to do this for yourself, at least do it for your fans. At the time of writing, Trey has sold 349,843 copies of ‘Chapter V’ in the States. Play his cards right and he could do Gold.

R&B crooner Trey Songz recently took to the stage at UNCF’s 33rd annual ‘An Evening of Stars’ where he sang latest single ‘Fumble’. The track is lifted from his latest album ‘Chapter V’, which to date has sold a pitiful 326,760 copies in the US since its release on August 21st, 2012.

Trey’s performance was actually very classy and he looked real dapper in a suit. That’s something you don’t see much of especially when he’s singing about sex! The vocals were nice and thankfully he kept it light with the vibrato. None of those Scooby Doo riffs. Yay.

Billboard 200: Trey Songz scores his first #1 with ‘Chapter V’…

Trey Songz scores his first ever #1 album on the Billboard 200 with ‘Chapter V’. The project sold little over 135k copies. A respectable feat for the 27-year-old, although its predecessor, ‘Passion, Pain & Pleasure’ sold much more with 240k copies in its first week. In fact, this is the first time an album of Trey’s has not increased from the one before.

‘I Gotta Make It’, released in 2005, peaked at #20, followed by 2007′s ‘Trey Day’, which peaked at #11. ‘Ready’ peaked at #3 in 2009, and ‘Passion, Pleasure, & Pain’ peaked at #2 spot in 2010. Sales for R&B singers has been down this year so this would serve as a sign of the times but at least Trey can now say he has a #1 album under his belt having come close a few times before. Congrats.
